  • Patent number: 11903034
Abstract: Systems for providing coverage enhancement for Msg 3 PUSCH and PUCCH carrying the HARQ-ACK for Msg4 of PRACH initial access are described. The gNB provides a 2-bit aggregation factor for transmission of the Msg3 PUSCH in an RAR UL grant field. The PUSCH frequency resource allocation field is limited to 12 bits so that the RAR has an overall number of bits that is the same as an RAR that does not contain the aggregation factor. A default PUSCH TDRA table includes a field to indicate a repetition level for Msg3 PUSCH transmission. For retransmissions, fields in DCI format 0_0 are repurposed to indicate an aggregation factor. Inter-slot frequency hopping may be configured by higher layers. Different PRACH resources are used to indicate UE coverage status.

  • Patent number: 11901999
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods for multiplexing of PUCCH for beam failure recovery and other signals. A UE may determine a transmission dropping rule and a transmission power scaling rule for a PUCCH which is dedicatedly configured for secondary BFR transmission, such as a PUCCH-BFR, when it is multiplexed with BFR multiplexed with at least one other signal. The PUCCH-BFR and the at least one other signal may be multiplexed in a CC or in multiple CCs. The UE may determine a transmission dropping rule, e.g., so that UE can transmit an uplink signals with higher priority and drop the other uplink signal with lower priority to avoid beam collisions. The UE may determine a transmission power scaling rule, e.g., so the UE may scale transmission power within a CC and/or across CCs. The UE may multiplex the PUCCH-BFR with the at least one other signal according to the rules.

  • Publication number: 20240049228
Abstract: A generation-Node B (gNB) configured for unlicensed spectrum operation above 52.6 GHz in a fifth-generation new-radio (NR) system (5GS) may encode a parameter (e.g., ssb-PositionsInBurst) for transmission to a UE (e.g., in the SIB1 or UE specific RRC signalling). The parameter may indicate candidate positions of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) within a discovery reference signal (DRS) measurement timing configuration (DMTC) transmission window within slots of a system frame (SFN). During the DMTC window, the gNB may perform a LBT procedure on an unlicensed carrier of the unlicensed spectrum to determine if the unlicensed carrier is available. When the LBT is successful (i.e., the unlicensed carrier is available), the gNB may encode a discovery reference signal (DRS) for transmission on the unlicensed carrier. The DRS may include one or more of the SSBs transmitted during the candidate positions that fall within the DRS.

  • Publication number: 20240008075
Abstract: Systems and methods for downlink transmission using a wideband unlicensed band carrier in 5G networks are described. The gNB determines, based on LBT, which LBT subchannel(s) in a BWP are available during a COT. The gNB transmits an indication of the available subchannels in DCI format 2_0 of a GC-PDCCH of one of the available subchannels and subsequently transmits a PDSCH using the available subchannel(s). The gNB may configure multiple opportunities during the COT and transmit the GC-PDCCH after the initial opportunity. The PDSCH is transmitted on all available subchannels during the COT and, during an initial portion of the COT, may transmit the PDSCH by puncturing symbols of the unavailable subchannels. The indication may include a bitmap of available subchannels or if the LBT outcome is not available, may indicate all or none of the subchannels or available or that the outcome is not available.
