  • Patent number: 11849447
Abstract: A generation-Node B (gNB) configured for unlicensed spectrum operation above 52.6 GHz in a fifth-generation new-radio (NR) system (5GS) may encode a parameter (e.g., ssb-PositionsInBurst) for transmission to a UE (e.g., in the SIM or UE specific RRC signalling). The parameter may indicate candidate positions of synchronization signal blocks (SSBs) within a discovery reference signal (DRS) measurement timing configuration (DMTC) transmission window within slots of a system frame (SFN). During the DMTC window, the gNB may perform a LBT procedure on an unlicensed carrier of the unlicensed spectrum to determine if the unlicensed carrier is available. When the LBT is successful (i.e., the unlicensed carrier is available), the gNB may encode a discovery reference signal (DRS) for transmission on the unlicensed carrier. The DRS may include one or more of the SSBs transmitted during the candidate positions that fall within the DRS.

  • Publication number: 20230397252
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are disclosed for a UE and its serving base station in 5G NR systems to signal channel scan or channel sensing to allow channel occupancy time (COT) sharing before transmissions. The COT sharing may be initiated by the base station or by the UE by asserting a CCA indication to enable channel sensing by a UE or base station, respectively. When the UE receives and decodes the asserted CCA indication during downlink transmission, the UE may perform channel sensing during a short interframe space (SIFS) between the downlink transmission and a scheduled uplink transmission. When the UE detects that the sensed RF energy across an intended transmission band is greater than an energy detect threshold, the UE may refrain from transmitting during the scheduled uplink transmission. Otherwise or when the CCA indication is de-asserted, the UE may transmit during the scheduled uplink transmission without performing channel sensing.

  • Patent number: 11838915
Abstract: Embodiments of a user equipment (UE) configured for new-radio (NR) operations in a fifth-generation (5G) system (5GS) may be configured to detect a downlink-control information (DCI) format that includes a one-shot hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) request field and a frequency domain resource assignment field (FDRA). The one-shot HARQ-ACK request field may indicate whether one-shot HARQ-ACK feedback is triggered. The UE may decode the FDRA field to determine whether the FDRA field indicates a valid frequency resource or whether the FDRA field indicates a special value and may also be configured to determine whether or not a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) is scheduled by the DCI format and whether or not secondary cell (SCell) dormancy switching is triggered based on both the one-shot HARQ-ACK request field and the FDRA field. The UE may also encode a HARQ-ACK transmission on a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH).

  • Patent number: 11831446
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a method and an apparatus of transmitting a hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgement/negative acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK/NACK). A first set of HARQ-ACK/NACK including at least one timing value is identified. The at least one HARQ-ACK/NACK timing value is a time difference between a downlink time unit in which a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) is received and an uplink time unit in which a HARQ-ACK/NACK associated with the PDSCH is transmitted. A second set including at least one downlink time associated with a HARQ-ACK/NACK feedback is determined based on the first set. A codebook for the HARQ-ACK/NACK is generated based on a size of the codebook. The size of the codebook is identified based on the second set including the at least one downlink time. The codebook for the HARQ-ACK/NACK is transmitted to the base station in the uplink time unit.

  • Patent number: 11832266
Abstract: A generation Node B (gNB) configured for operating in a fifth generation (5G) system encodes a downlink control information (DCI) for transmission to a user equipment (UE). For slot-less operation the DCI may indicate a set of values for a data channel scheduling gap and hybrid automatic repeat request—acknowledgement (HARQ-ACK) timing. The set of values may be defined for a symbol group including one or more symbols. The gNB may encode the data channel for transmission based on the one or more values. The data channel may be transmitted on the symbol group with slot-less operation and using a subframe or frame for reference timing.

  • Publication number: 20230370211
Abstract: A method and an apparatus are provided for transmitting a hybrid automatic repeat request-acknowledgment/negative acknowledgment (HARQ-ACK/NACK). A first set including at least one HARQ-ACK/NACK timing value is identified. Each timing value indicates a time difference between a downlink time unit for physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) reception and an uplink time unit in which a HARQ-ACK/NACK feedback is transmitted. A second set is determined that includes at least one downlink time unit. A codebook is generated for the HARQ-ACK/NACK feedback. A size of the codebook is identified based on a size of the second set and a number of HARQ-ACK/NACK bits corresponding to each downlink time unit. The codebook is transmitted to the base station. The number of HARQ-ACK/NACK bits is determined based on a number of code block groups (CBGs) in one transmission block (TB), in case that scheduling for a downlink transmission is based on CBG.

  • Patent number: 11758496
Abstract: Provided are a communication method and system for converging a 5th-Generation (5G) communication system for supporting higher data rates beyond a 4th-Generation (4G) system with a technology for Internet of Things (IoT), with a transmission and receipt processing method and device for time-frequency synchronization between V2X terminals. When a synchronization signal to be transmitted is identical to a synchronization signal of an existing D2D terminal, time-frequency resources configured for the D2D terminal in a cell are reused to transmit the synchronization signal. When synchronization signal to be transmitted is different from a synchronization signal of an existing D2D terminal, reconfigured time-frequency resources are used to transmit the synchronization signal. The synchronization signal transmitted by a V2X terminal indicates a corresponding synchronization source type by using a value of an SLSS sequence index and/or a value of a PSBCH specified field.
