  • Patent number: 9226421
Abstract: In an electro-optical device, a backup plate is disposed to overlap an electro-optical panel, and the backup plate includes a groove portion (reinforcing groove) recessed from the front face and protruding on the back face. In addition, the backup plate includes a groove reinforcement region including the reinforcing member extending through inside of the groove portion. Accordingly, the backup plate is resistant to deflection, and therefore deflection of the electro-optical panel can be effectively suppressed.

  • Patent number: 9204136
Abstract: A display device includes a backlight unit, a light guiding plate which is overlappingly arranged on an optical panel, light emitting elements which are arranged on the side surface of the light guiding plate, and a light source driving unit which drives the light emitting elements. The light source driving unit intermittently turns on all of the light emitting elements when displaying a 3D image on the optical panel. In contrast to this, when displaying a 2D image on the optical panel, each light emitting intensity of the light emitting elements in a part of rows is set to be the same as that in a 3D mode, and each light emitting intensity of the light emitting elements in a part of rows other than that is set to be lower than that in the 3D mode.

  • Patent number: 9116272
Abstract: In a light guide plate used in a lighting device, light-emitting elements are arranged at first intervals. However, the light emitting elements are partly arranged at second interval which is larger than the first intervals. Therefore, a rectangular shaped second diffusing areas formed by grooves are provided in an outer edge area arranged between a first diffusing area having a plurality of grooves (diffusing pattern) formed thereon and an end portion of the light guide plate so as to have a width smaller than the second intervals so as to face areas in which the light emitting elements are arranged at the second intervals.

  • Patent number: 9097828
Abstract: When first grooves are formed by irradiating a lower surface facing a light outgoing surface of a light guide plate for an illuminating device with laser beams, an outer circumferential region is firstly irradiated with the laser beams to form second grooves. Then, the second grooves are inspected. Next, irradiation conditions of the laser beams are adjusted based on an inspection result of the second grooves, irradiation positions of the laser beams are linearly displaced from formation positions of the second grooves, and formation of the first grooves in the scattering reflection region is then started.

  • Publication number: 20150146152
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a liquid crystal device having a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other with a liquid crystal layer interposed therebetween, and a sealing member formed in a peripheral portion of at least one of the substrates. The method includes forming the sealing member, disposing the liquid crystal layer inside the sealing member, and bonding the first substrate to the second substrate. In forming the sealing member, a ring-shaped portion that seals the liquid crystal layer inside the sealing member, a first sealing layer and a second sealing layer that face each other to be separated from each other are formed. In the bonding of the first substrate to the second substrate, a junction portion is formed in which the first and second sealing layers are pressed and joined outside the sealing member so as to form the ring-shaped portion.
