  • Publication number: 20030186545
Abstract: An etch processor for etching a wafer includes a chuck for holding the wafer and a temperature sensor reporting a temperature of the wafer. The chuck includes a heater controlled by a temperature control system. The temperature sensor is operatively coupled to the temperature control system to maintain the temperature of the chuck at a selectable setpoint temperature. A first setpoint temperature and a second setpoint temperature are selected. The wafer is placed on the chuck and set to the first setpoint temperature. The wafer is then processed for a first period of time at the first setpoint temperature and for a second period of time at the second setpoint temperature.

  • Patent number: 6344105
Abstract: Improved methods and apparatus for ion-assisted etch processing in a plasma processing system are disclosed. In accordance with various aspects of the invention, an elevated edge ring, a grooved edge ring, and a RF coupled edge ring are disclosed. The invention operates to improve etch rate uniformity across a substrate (wafer). Etch rate uniformity improvement provided by the invention not only improves fabrication yields but also is cost efficient and does not risk particulate and/or heavy metal contamination.

  • Patent number: 6316458
Abstract: A category of hydroxyalkyl-substituted xanthines are useful in treating patients suffering from disorders associated with impaired glucose metabolism or impaired insulin function. Use of these compounds, for example, restores insulin responsiveness in otherwise insulin-resistant Type 2 diabetic patients, thus reducing elevated blood glucose levels. The subject compounds also act to restore certain defects of lipid metabolism and to enhance the effects of insulin in general. Insulin-enhancing compositions and methods of treating disorders of glucose metabolism are provided.

  • Patent number: 5980580
Abstract: A washing method characterized in that washing is carried out under conditions that a pH of a washing liquid starts increasing after a water hardness of the washing liquid starts decreasing; a detergent composition characterized by containing particles capable of delayed-exerting an alkalizing effect of a washing liquid, wherein a pH of a washing liquid starts increasing after a water hardness of the washing liquid starts decreasing; and a detergent composition comprising an alkalizing agent coated with an organic material, or organic and inorganic materials, the alkalizing agent occupying an amount of 70% by weight or more of the entire alkalizing agents in the detergent composition.

  • Patent number: 5067160
Abstract: The apparatus recognizes a motion of an object which is moving and is hidden in an image signal, and discriminates the object from the background within the signal. The apparatus has an image forming unit comprising non-linear oscillators, which forms an image of the motion of the object in accordance with an adjacent-mutual-interference-rule, on the basis of the image signal. A memory unit, comprising non-linear oscillators, stores conceptualized meanings of several motions. A retrieval unit retrieves a conceptualized meaning close to the motion image of the object. An altering unit alters the rule, on the basis of the conceptualized meaning. The image forming unit, memory unit, retrieval unit and altering unit form a holonic-loop. Successive alterations of the rules by the altering unit within the holonic loop change an ambiguous image formed in the image forming unit into a distinct image.

  • Patent number: 4982170
Abstract: This invention discloses a signal processing apparatus which has N nonlinear oscillators, a circuit for coupling the N nonlinear oscillators in a loop-like form, a circuit for shifting the phase of the output signal of a particular nonlinear oscillator from among the N nonlinear oscillators in correspondence with an input signal, and a circuit for outputting the output of at least one oscillator of the N nonlinear oscillators as the output of the signal processing apparatus. This apparatus has capability to effect analog conversion, modulation or storage of an input signal.
