    Abstract: Disclosed is a CO2 capturing device for improving CO2 removal efficiency and use of a dry solid absorbent. The device comprises a CO2 recovery reactor 1 to permit CO2 containing gas externally supplied to be in contact with a dry solid absorbent to capture CO2; a recovery cyclone 4 connected to the recovery reactor 1 to exhaust CO2-free gas while separating a solid portion containing CO2; a fluidized bed type regeneration reactor 2 which receives the solid portion through a solid feeding pipe 5 connected to the recovery cyclone 4 and divides the solid portion into CO2 and the other part containing the dry solid absorbent by using a fluidizing gas fed through a fluidizing gas supply pipe 8; a regeneration cyclone 6 to exhaust the separated CO2 outside in order to use CO2 in the regeneration reactor 2; and a water vapor pretreatment device 3 connected to the regeneration reactor 2 to absorb H2O in the dry solid absorbent and feedback the H2O containing absorbent to the recovery reactor.

    Abstract: Systems and methodologies are described that facilitate synthesizing a single baseband waveform from digital signals related to multiple carriers. Digital signals can be received relating to a plurality of carriers. The digital signals can result from spreading data symbols from transport blocks to create chip sequences, which can additionally be pulse shaped. The digital signals can be rotated in a positive or negative direction, such as according to a complex sinusoid or a negative representation thereof. The rotated signals can be combined or added to generate a single baseband waveform. The single baseband waveform can be converted to an analog signal, which can be up-converted and centered at a plurality of frequency carriers, which can be adjacent, assigned for transmitting the signal. In addition, optimizations can be provided to ensure threshold power ratio over the plurality of carriers for effectively transmitting jointly encoded signals.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for a filter for filtering airborne particles present within an enclosure containing equipment sensitive is provided. The filter may be used within the enclosure of a hard disk drive. The filter may comprise a magnetic plate enclosed by a protective layer, which in turn may be enclosed by a non-woven scrim. The magnetic plate has a magnetic property that generates a magnetic field attractive to paramagnetic particles within the enclosure. The protective layer forms a barrier that prevents particles of the magnetic plate from entering into the enclosure. The non-woven scrim may, but need not, have an adhesive property which traps non-paramagnetic particles coming in contact with the non-woven scrim. If the non-woven scrim lacks an adhesive property, then at least a portion of the non-woven scrim may be coated with an adhesive layer which traps non-paramagnetic particles coming in contact with the non-woven scrim.

    Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for measuring human intelligence using a neurobiogical model. The invention provides a method which enables neurometric IQ to be measured by processing the MRI and fMRI images of subjects to determine cortical thicknesses and brain activation levels, determining structural IQ (sIQ) and functional IQ (fIQ) from the cortical thicknesses and the brain activation levels, and using the structural IQ (sIQ) and the functional IQ (fIQ) as predictors to measure the neurometric IQ of the subject. According to the present invention, the concept of a neurometric IQ (nIQ) model is established and can assist in easily assessing individual differences in general cognitive ability. These results suggest that general cognitive ability can be explained by two different neural bases or traits: facilitation of neural circuits and accumulation of crystallized knowledge.
