    Abstract: A mold with a protruding pattern is provided that is pressed into a thin polymer film via an imprinting process. Controlled connections between nanowires and microwires and other lithographically-made elements of electronic circuitry are provided. An imprint stamp is configured to form arrays of approximately parallel nanowires which have (1) micro dimensions in the X direction, (2) nano dimensions and nano spacing in the Y direction, and three or more distinct heights in the Z direction. The stamp thus formed can be used to connect specific individual nanowires to specific microscopic regions of microscopic wires or pads. The protruding pattern in the mold creates recesses in the thin polymer film, so the polymer layer acquires the reverse of the pattern on the mold. After the mold is removed, the film is processed such that the polymer pattern can be transferred on a metal/semiconductor pattern on the substrate.

    Abstract: One embodiment of the present invention provides a system that optimizes a circuit design during a logic design stage to reduce routing congestion during a placement and routing stage. During operation, this system identifies a first circuit structure in the circuit design which is expected to cause routing congestion during the placement and routing stage. Next, the system generates a second circuit structure which is functionally equivalent to the first circuit structure, and is not expected to cause routing congestion during the placement and routing stage. The system then replaces the first circuit structure in the circuit design with the second circuit structure, thereby mitigating routing congestion during the placement and routing stage.

    Abstract: An LED lamp includes a housing defining an opening, an LED module received in the housing, a light-guiding cover covering the LED module and a transparent plate hermetically coupled to the housing via glue. The housing includes a main body, a pair of lateral plates secured to two opposite ends thereof and a pair of cushioning plates tightly sandwiched between the lateral plates and the two opposite ends of the main body. Each cushioning plate defines a recessed side edge, whereby two opposite end edges of the transparent plate, the recessed side edges and tops of the lateral plates cooperatively define a pair of receiving grooves at the two opposite ends of the main body of the housing. An outer edge of the transparent plate is hermetically coupled to the housing via glue filled in the receiving grooves.

The method includes performing thermal cleaning on a surface of a silicon substrate, forming a silicon nitride (Si3N4) micro-mask on the surface of the silicon substrate in an in situ manner, and growing a gallium nitride layer through epitaxial lateral overgrowth (ELO) using an opening in the micro-mask.
