Abstract: The present disclosure relates to memory arrays with read reference voltage cells. In particular the present disclosure relates to variable resistive memory cell apparatus and arrays that include a high resistance state reference memory cell and a low resistance state reference memory cell that provides a reliable average reference voltage on chip to compare to a read voltage of a selected memory cell and determine if the selected memory cell is in the high resistance state or low resistance state. These memory arrays are particularly suitable for use with spin-transfer torque memory cells and resolves many systematic issues related to generation of a reliable reference voltage.

  • Patent number: 7679597
Abstract: A scan driving circuit includes a plurality of stages. Each stage receives three of four clocks that may be sequentially generated, receives and delays an input signal through an input terminal, and outputs an output signal through an output terminal. The input terminal of each stage is connected to the output terminal of a previous one of the stages. Each stage includes a transistor, a switch section, and a storage section. The transistor turns off/on a connection of the input terminal according to a second clock. The switch section transfers a first voltage to the output terminal according to a first clock and prevents the first voltage from being transferred to the output terminal according to the input signal. The storage section maintains a voltage of the output terminal for a predetermined time and transfers a voltage of a third clock to the output terminal according to the input signal.

  • Patent number: 7679867
Abstract: A magnetic flux coupling-type superconducting current limiter is capable of protecting lines more effectively by winding reactors of a primary coil and a secondary coil in series in the structure where the primary coil and the secondary coils are wound in parallel in the conventional magnetic flux-lock type current limiter to increase a linked flux generated from an iron core. An electric conducting current which rapidly increases when a fault occurs is divided into the secondary coil and a superconducting coil to decrease a load on the superconducting element and it is opened more rapidly than the existing superconducting current limiter during a quench time such that it better limits a fault current.

  • Patent number: 7679732
Abstract: A measurement range is extended while maintaining the spatial resolution high by completely separating the increment of a probe light from noises. Modulations are performed on both probe light and pump light to differentiate both lights. Using the modulations, only the change in the probe light necessary for measuring the characteristic of a measurement-target optical fiber FUT can be separated. Accordingly, unlike the conventional technology, an optical wavelength filter becomes unnecessary. Further, in a case where an amplitude ?f of the frequency modulation of a light source 1 is made wide to some extent to make the measurement range wide while maintaining a spatial resolution ?z high, the amplitude ?f does not affect to detection of the change in the probe light. Therefore, the increment of the probe light can be completely separated from noises, thereby extending the measurement range while maintaining the spatial resolution ?z high.

  • Patent number: 7679967
Abstract: A system and methodology that can minimize disturbance during an AC operation associated with a memory, such as, program, read and/or erase, is provided. The system pre-charges all or a desired subset of the bit lines in a memory array to a specified voltage, during an AC operation to facilitate reducing AC disturbances between neighboring cells. A pre-charge voltage can be applied to all bit lines in a block in the memory array, or to bit lines associated with a selected memory cell and neighbor memory cells adjacent to the selected memory cell in the block. The system ensures that source and drain voltage levels can be set to desired levels at the same or substantially the same time, while selecting a memory cell. This can facilitate minimizing AC disturbances in the selected memory cell during the AC operation.
