Abstract: A motor used to drive optical elements includes a stator, a rotor revolved relative to the stator, and a feedback apparatus used to sense the position of the rotor. The feedback apparatus is an encoder. Such described structure eliminates the system's instability caused by the drift of a conventional capacitive type transducer or an inductance type transducer. Moreover, the response of the motor used to drive optical elements has been improved greatly by utilizing a multipole motor.

Abstract: A method for transmitting a message from a mobile terminal includes determining whether a specific event that occurs during the transmission may be disregarded. The specific event may be an event such as a closing/opening of a folder, a flip, or a sliding cover of the mobile terminal or a receipt of a call from another party. Normally, the specific event causes the mobile terminal to terminate the transmission of the message. However, the user may specify that the specific event may be disregarded, and the transmission may continue without disruption. As an example, an event disregard mode may be set via a menu for one or more specific events to indicate that the specific events may be disregarded. Thus, user's convenience is enhanced and a fast communication service is provided to users.

Abstract: A power-on circuit of a computer includes a heat sink, an SIO chip, a connector, a first electric switch, a second electric switch, and a third electric switch. When the heat sink is installed properly, the heat sink is grounded, and the first electric switch is turned off. After a power-on button is pressed down, a power supply on pin of the SIO chip sends a low level signal to turn off the second electric switch, the third electric switch is turned on, a power supply on pin of the connector is at a low level, and the computer is powered on. When the heat sink is installed improperly, the heat sink is not grounded, the first electric switch is turned on, the third electric switch is turned off, the power supply on pin of the connector is at a high level, and the computer cannot be powered on.

Abstract: Provided are an orthogonal frequency division multiple assess (OFDMA) system and a method for controlling frequency offsets of subscribers in uplink communication. The OFDMA system solves a problem that the system performance is deteriorated in uplink communications because subscriber stations have different carrier frequency offsets. Each subscriber station compensates for a frequency offset thereof in response to a frequency offset control signal provided by a base station and then transmits an uplink frame to the base station. The base station compensates for an average frequency offset using the uplink frame, which has a small frequency offset shift because each subscriber station compensates for the frequency offset thereof previously, and thus the frequency offset of each subscriber station can be correctly compensated to prevent inter-carrier interference.

Abstract: Provided are a time shift service apparatus and method based on multimedia information, and a multimedia reproducing apparatus using the same. The timeshift service apparatus includes: a timeshift buffering unit for storing a multimedia stream according a timeshift service requested from an outside device; a time obtaining unit for obtaining time information about times of starting and ending a timeshift service according to the timeshift service request; a memory managing unit for storing a multimedia stream, which is serviced based on the obtained time information by the time obtaining unit, in the timeshift buffering unit; and an information generating unit for generating detailed information for the multimedia stream stored in the timeshift buffering unit.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a guide rail for a refrigerator. A guide rail for a refrigerator according to the present invention comprises a rail body having a back face to be brought into close contact with a side surface of an inner case defining a storage space of the refrigerator; a guide portion provided in the rail body so that the guide portion extends in front of a guide rib formed to be elongated in a fore and aft direction on the side surface of the inner case, thereby guiding the movement of a receiving container to be accommodated in or taken out from the storage space; and a seating space provided in the rail body so that a portion of the guide rib is inserted into the seating space when the back face of the rail body is brought into close contact with the side surface of the inner case. According to the present invention, there is an advantage in that it is possible to secure the operational reliability and the durability of a product.

Abstract: Provided is a thermoplastic resin composition having excellent flame resistance, colorability, and scratch resistance, including: A) 100 parts by weight of a basic resin comprising 10 to 89 wt % of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer, 89 to 10 wt % of styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer, and 1 to 40 wt % of methylmethacrylate polymer; B) 1 to 30 parts by weight of bromoalkyl or bromophenyl cyanurate compounds; and C) 1 to 20 parts by weight of antimony compound, thereby, making it possible to provide the thermoplastic resin composition having excellent flame resistance, impact strength, scratch resistance, colorability, and surface hardness as synergy effects.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device and its fabrication method are disclosed. Specifically, a fabrication method in which polyhedral spacers are implemented on a substrate through an ink jet method are used for an LCD device. The spacers have the polyhedral shape to increase their contact area with two substrates, and include a surface processed layer for strengthening a bonding force in its bonding with an alignment film formed on the two substrates. The spacers have a polyhedral shape for maintaining the cell gap between the substrates.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for the separation of S-(?)-amlodipine from a racemic amlodipine. Featuring the use of inexpensive L-tartaric acid as an optical resolution agent and DMAC as a solvent, the separation method allows the resolution of S-(?)-amlodipine from racemic amlodipine at high yield and to a satisfactory enantiomeric excess and thus is economically favorable and applicable to the mass production of the optical isomer.

Abstract: A method of transmitting feedback information in a wireless communication system is disclosed. More specifically, the method comprises a mobile station (MS) which determines whether to transmit feedback information to a base station (BS) without solicitation from the BS. After determining to do so, the MS transmits a request message to request the BS to allocate an uplink resource for transmitting at least one unsolicited header and thereafter receives the uplink resource allocation from the BS. Lastly, the MS transmits the at least one unsolicited header via the allocated uplink resource.

Abstract: A process for preparing granular polysilicon using a fluidized bed reactor is disclosed. The upper and lower spaces of the bed are defined as a reaction zone and a heating zone, respectively, with the height of the reaction gas outlet being selected as the reference height. The invention maximizes the reactor productivity by sufficiently providing the heat required and stably maintaining the reaction temperature in the reaction zone, without impairing the mechanical stability of the fluidized bed reactor. This is achieved through electrical resistance heating in the heating zone where an internal heater is installed in a space in between the reaction gas supplying means and the inner wall of the reactor tube, thereby heating the fluidizing gas and the silicon particles in the heating zone.

Also, the fixture and the healing abutment or the cover screw can be easily pulled out during an implant operation.
