  • Publication number: 20060051684
Abstract: A photo-mask has a main mask pattern in a main region, a density correcting pattern in a peripheral region, and an exposure blocking pattern interposed between the main mask pattern and density correcting pattern. The exposure blocking pattern is configured to prevent the density correcting pattern from being transcribed to a wafer. The photo-mask is made by providing mask substrate on which a mask layer and a photoresist layer are disposed, providing design data that specifies at least the main mask pattern, and using the design data to derive exposure data that controls the exposure of the photoresist layer. The exposure data includes information that specifies the exposure blocking pattern, the portion of the peripheral region to be occupied by the density correcting pattern, and the pattern density of that portion of the peripheral region to be occupied by the density correcting pattern.

  • Publication number: 20060044247
Abstract: A built-in gate driver having an improved reliability and a display device having the same are provided. A transistor controlled by an output signal of a next stage is further provided and thus a node (Q) is rapidly discharged. Accordingly, the multi-output signals due to the reduced discharge of the node (Q) caused by the degradation of the transistor controlled by a node QB can be prevented. By including only one transistor for controlling the charge of the start pulse signal on the node (Q), it is possible to prevent a malfunction from occurring when the transistor connected to the clock is degraded by the periodic clock of a high state. Also, an image quality and the reliability of the gate driver can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20060017404
Abstract: A light source portion for a liquid crystal display (LCD) device may prevent reduction of the life span of the multiple lamps (LPs) when a surrounding temperature of the multiple LPs is less than a predetermined temperature of the LCD device. The LCD device comprises first and second brightness control portions receiving a brightness control signal, a temperature sensor, a signal output portion connected to the first and second brightness control portions and the temperature sensor, and an inverter portion turning on or turning off the multiple LPs based on the control signal from the signal output portion. When the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor is less than the predetermined temperature of the LCD device, the signal output portion switches the brightness control signal from a high level to a low level, and makes the multiple LPs maintain the high level until the surrounding temperature becomes more than the predetermined temperature.

  • Publication number: 20060019178
Abstract: A method of repairing a phase shift mask includes exposing upper and side surfaces of the phase shift pattern of the mask, selectively forming a passivation layer on the surfaces of the exposed phase shift patterns, and then cleaning the phase shift mask on which the passivation layers are formed. The repairing of the phase shift mask is carried out in the midst of a series of photolithographic exposure processes in which the phase shift mask is used to transfer an image to a photoresist layer or layers. After the photomask is cleaned, a determination is made as to whether the transmittance of the phase shift pattern is above a threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20060012276
Abstract: A flat fluorescent lamp includes a lamp body and first external electrodes. The lamp body has discharge spaces formed therein. The first external electrodes are disposed at a first end portion of an outer surface of the lamp body and a second end portion that is opposite to the first end portion to define a first region where the discharge spaces overlap the first external electrodes and a second region where the discharge spaces do not overlap the first external electrodes. Each of the discharge spaces has a first width at the first region and a second width that is smaller than the first width at the second region. Therefore, an overlapping region between the first external electrodes and the discharge space increases to lower the discharge voltage.
