An exemplary method includes providing a base substrate having a first region and a second region; forming a dielectric layer having a first opening in the first region and a second opening in the second region over; forming a gate dielectric layer on a side surface of the first opening and a portion of the base substrate in the first opening and on a side surface of the second opening and a portion of the base substrate in the second opening; filling a sacrificial layer in the first opening; forming a second work function layer in the second opening and a second gate electrode layer on the second work function layer; removing the sacrificial layer; and forming a first work function layer in the first opening and a first gate electrode layer on the first work function layer.

    Abstract: A method for fabricating a Fin-FET device includes forming a plurality of discrete fin structures on a substrate with a bottom portion of the sidewall surfaces covered in an isolation layer, and forming a dielectric layer on the isolation layer and the fin structures with an opening formed across the fin structures and exposing a portion of the isolation layer and the fin structures. The method further includes forming a first oxidation layer on the exposed surfaces of the fin structures, and then forming a second oxidation layer between the first oxidation layer and the surfaces of the fin structures through a first annealing process. The method then includes forming a gate dielectric layer on the first oxidation layer, forming a sacrificial adsorption layer on the gate dielectric layer, performing a second annealing process, and then forming a gate electrode layer to fill the opening formed in the dielectric layer.

    Abstract: A mobile radio has selectable transmit and receive channels, and is in a talkgroup that has a primary channel and multiple auxiliary channels. The mobile radio receives a broadcast-start command, and responsively selects its transmit channel to be the primary channel (if available) or an inactive auxiliary channel (if the primary channel is not available). The mobile radio receives user media via its user interface, and transmits that received user media on its selected transmit channel. The mobile radio scans for an auxiliary channel transitioning from inactive to active. Responsive to detecting such a transition, the mobile radio selects that auxiliary channel as its receive channel. The mobile radio mixes inbound media received on its selected receive channel with user media received via its user interface, and transmits the mixed media on its selected transmit channel.

    Abstract: A method, system and computer program product in a wireless gateway to provide secured communications over a wireless network and a wired network is provided herein. The method includes the steps of receiving a first authentication credential from a wireless device and mapping the first authentication credential to a second authentication credential. The method further includes transmitting the second authentication credential to an authentication server and receiving a first authentication response from the authentication server. The method also includes generating a first shared secret and a second shared secret if the first authentication response indicates that authentication is successful and transmitting a second authentication response to the wireless device. The first shared secret is used to setup a first secured channel for communications with a service provider over a wired network and the second shared secret is used to setup a second secured channel for communications with the wireless device.

The controller performs a comparison of the signature and information in a signature library and determines whether or not the signature matches the information. The controller sends a signal that indicates a result of the comparison. If the signature and the information match then the signal has a first value indicating that the block of data is already stored on the SSD; if the signature and the information do not match then the signal has a second value that is different than the first value.

    Abstract: Embodiments describe the selective electroless plating of dielectric layers. According to an embodiment, a dielectric layer is patterned to form one or more patterned surfaces. A seed layer is then selectively formed along the patterned surfaces of the dielectric layer. An electroless plating process is used to deposit metal only on the patterned surfaces of the dielectric layer. According to an embodiment, the dielectric layer is doped with an activator precursor. Laser assisted local activation is performed on the patterned surfaces of the dielectric layer in order to selectively form a seed layer only on the patterned surfaces of the dielectric layer by reducing the activator precursor to an oxidation state of zero. According to an additional embodiment, a seed layer is selectively formed on the patterned surfaces of the dielectric layer with a colloidal or ionic seeding solution.

    Abstract: A switching power converter provides regulated voltage to a load. The switching power converter comprises a transformer including a primary winding coupled to an input voltage and a secondary winding coupled to an output of the switching power converter. The switching power converter further comprises a power switch coupled to the primary winding and a rectifier coupled to the secondary winding. Current is generated in the primary winding responsive to the power switch being turned on and not generated responsive to the power switch being turned off. A detection circuit measures a voltage across the rectifier. If the detection circuit detects a decrease in the voltage across the rectifier outside of a blanking period, the detection circuit generates a current pulse in the secondary winding of the transformer.

    Abstract: A method for fabricating a semiconductor structure includes providing a substrate, forming an interface layer on the substrate, and then performing a first annealing process on the interface layer under a nitrogen-containing environment to form a nitrogen-containing layer from a top portion of the interface layer. The method further includes forming a high-k dielectric layer on the nitrogen-containing layer, and performing a second annealing process on the high-k dielectric layer to allow nitrogen ions in the nitrogen-containing layer to diffuse into the high-k dielectric layer to reduce a density of active oxygen vacancies in the high-k dielectric layer.
