    Abstract: In a method for generating a preamble of a data unit for transmission via a communication channel, an indication of a first number of spatial or space-time streams is included in a first field of the preamble. The first number of spatial or space-time streams corresponds to transmission of the data unit to a first receiver. One or more training sequences are included in a second field of the preamble. The preamble is formatted such that the first field of the preamble will be transmitted prior to the second field of the preamble being transmitted.

The method includes transmitting a first beacon, including the first traffic indication map, over a wireless medium and then transmitting a second beacon. The restricted access window begins after the first beacon and ends before the second beacon. The method includes, during the restricted access window, accessing the wireless medium using first channel access parameters; and after the restricted access window but before the second beacon, accessing the wireless medium using second channel access parameters. The first channel access parameters include a first short interframe space and a first slot time. The second channel access parameters include a second short interframe space equal to the first short interframe space and a second slot time. The second slot time and the first slot time are related by an integer multiple that is greater than one.

    Abstract: There is provided a clock distribution network for synchronizing global clock signals within a 3D chip stack having two or more strata. The clock distribution circuit includes, on each of the two or more strata, phase detectors, a logic circuit, and a phase de-skewing element. Each phase detector has a respective output for providing phase information relating to a phase difference between two of the global clocks signals on respective different ones of the two or more strata. The logic circuit is connected to the respective outputs of the phase detectors for determining a phase adjustment plan for a given one of the two or more strata upon which the logic circuit is located responsive to the phase information. The method does not require separate fabrication of a mask plate, thereby significantly reducing the manufacturing costs of the mask plate for shielding during sealant-curing.

The second address field indicates the other one of a communication device for which the data unit is intended or a communication device that is transmitting the data unit. The first address field and the second address field are included in the MAC header. The MAC header omits a globally unique address corresponding to the first address of the first address field.

The method includes determining that a duplicate mode will be utilized for an OFDM transmission in the set of component channels and, in response, generating a duplicate mode data unit. The duplicate mode data unit has fewer lower-edge and/or upper-edge guard tones than a non-duplicate mode data unit corresponding to a set of component channels, and includes one duplicate of the non-duplicate mode data unit corresponding to the single component channel for each adjacent component channel.
