Abstract: Some embodiments of the invention provide a method for implementing an edge device that handles data traffic between a logical network and an external network. The method monitors resource usage of a node pool that includes multiple nodes that each executes a respective set of pods. Each of the pods is for performing a respective set of data message processing operations for at least one of multiple logical routers. The method determines that a particular node in the node pool has insufficient resources for the particular node's respective set of pods to adequately perform their respective sets of data message processing operations. Based on the determination, the method automatically provides additional resources to the node pool by instantiating at least one additional node in the node pool.

Abstract: Provided is a method for synthesizing a flavonoid compound. The method comprises providing a recombinant prokaryotic cell, wherein, in the prokaryotic cell, the transmembrane protein rhodanese Ygap of Escherichia coli is up-regulated or a target gene or target gene combination selected from the following groups is down-regulated: pyrB, accC, accB, purC, glyA, tktA, fabB, leuD, leuC, glpC, folK and leuA. Also provided are a prokaryotic cell for synthesizing a flavonoid compound and the use thereof, and the use of a kit and a regulation and control reagent. The present disclosure achieves significant improvement in the yield of the flavonoid compound.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method and a device for controlling opening and closing of a vehicle door, a vehicle, and a computer readable storage medium. On the basis of a vehicle provided with a capacitive sensing area having a plurality of capacitive sensing points, a touch sliding operation executed by a vehicle user is acquired via the capacitive sensing area; according to trigger state information of the touch sliding operation for the plurality of capacitive sensing points, it is determined whether the touch sliding operation is an accidental touch operation; and finally, in response to that the touch sliding operation is not the accidental touch operation, according to a triggering sequence of the touch sliding operation for the plurality of capacitive sensing points, the vehicle door is immediately controlled to be opened or closed.

Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed to techniques and mechanisms that provide reliable packet delivery in cloud computing environments. For example, an aspect of the disclosed technology is a process that replicates an original packet at the guest layer or within a virtual machine (VM) of a cloud computing system, adds different flow labels to the packet copies and original packet at the guest layer or virtualization layer, and maps two or more of the copies and original packets to different tunnels between source and destination nodes.

Abstract: A method includes: receiving a first message from a first node, where the first message includes a first key agreement parameter, the first key agreement parameter is obtained based on a first private key and an intermediate parameter, the intermediate parameter is obtained based on a security parameter and a common parameter, and the security parameter is a first password or a PSK; determining a first key based on the first key agreement parameter and a second private key; sending a second message to the first node, where the second message includes a second key agreement parameter, and the second key agreement parameter is obtained based on the second private key and the intermediate parameter; and obtaining the first key based on the first key agreement parameter and the second private key.

Abstract: A cracking furnace system for converting a hydrocarbon feedstock into cracked gas includes a convection section, a radiant section and a cooling section. The convection section includes a plurality of convection banks configured to receive only a hydrocarbon feedstock and a diluent. The radiant section includes a firebox comprising at least oxygen or oxygen enriched air burners and several radiant coils configured to heat up the feedstock to a temperature allowing a pyrolysis reaction. The cooling section includes at least two transfer line exchangers (TLE), a primary transfer line exchanger (PTLE) and a secondary transfer line exchanger (STLE).

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for configuring a logical router implemented in a Kubernetes cluster. The method receives configuration data specifying a service rule for the logical router. The service rule requires processing of L5-L7 headers of data messages sent to the logical router. Based on the service rule, the method defines (i) a redirection rule specifying a set of data messages to which the service rule applies based on L2-L4 header values and (ii) an L5-L7 processing rule for application of the service rule. the method provides the redirection rule to a first set of Pods in the cluster and the L5-L7 processing rule to a second set of Pods in the cluster.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for configuring a logical network in a Kubernetes cluster, at a network management system external to the Kubernetes cluster. The method receives a definition of a logical router for the logical network. The logical router definition specifies a set of one or more L7 services to be performed on data messages processed by the logical router. Via a control plane of the Kubernetes cluster, the method defines (i) a first CR instance associated with a first CRD for implementing logical forwarding for the logical router and (ii) for each L7 service, a separate CR instance associated with a second CRD for implementing the L7 service.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a method for configuring logical routers of a logical network. The logical routers are implemented in a Kubernetes cluster as a first set of Pods that each perform logical forwarding operations for the logical routers and a second set of Pods that each perform L7 service operations for a respective logical router. From a Kubernetes control plane component, the method receives a notification that the first set requires scaling to include an additional Pod. The first-set Pods process data messages between the logical network and external networks. Within the network management system, the method defines at least one new interface for processing data messages between the logical network and external networks. The method configures the at least one interface on the additional Pod to communicate with external physical routers to receive traffic from the external networks and send traffic to the external networks.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method for automatically deploying and monitoring logical forwarding elements (LFEs) for network administrators. To represent an LFE that a network administrator wants to implement, the method defines an edge object based on a first set of attributes provided by the network administrator for the LFE. The method analyzes a second set of attributes of the edge object to derive an edge deployment plan that specifies a set of two or more edge instances that implements the LFE in a set of one or more clouds. The method deploys the set of edge instances in the set of clouds. The method collects metrics associated with each edge instance in the set of two or more edge instances. The method analyzes the collected metrics to modify the edge deployment plan and revise the set of edge instances based on the modified edge deployment plan.

Abstract: A novel Fischer Tropsch (FT) catalyst that has improved thermal characteristics and a highly active surface catalyst coating on a pellet to produce high quality hydrocarbon liquids and waxes even at high reactor temperatures. The catalyst shows a surprising increase in hydrocarbons and wax formation at high temperature and a much higher specific catalyst activity than demonstrated to date. More generally, a catalyst support, method of making a catalyst, and methods of FT synthesis are described.

Abstract: Some embodiments provide a novel method for configuring components of a software-defined network (SDN) to automatically deploy and monitor a logical edge router for a user. The method configures a policy parser to parse an intent-based Application Programming Interface (API) request to identify a set of attributes for the logical edge router. The method also configures a set of multi-cloud edge orchestrators (1) to use the set of attributes to derive an edge deployment plan specifying a set of two or more edge instances to implement the logical edge router, and (2) to deploy the set of edge instances in a set of two or more clouds based on the edge deployment plan.

Abstract: An iron-carbon composite material, a preparation method therefor, and an application thereof related to microbial technology applications. The method includes the following steps: a cross-linking and curing step: carrying out cross-linking and curing to iron powder and biological activated carbon by using an alkaline earth metal salt and a cross-linking agent; and a mineralization treatment step: soaking the cross-linked and cured iron-carbon composite material in a mineralization bacteria solution for 5-15 min, and carrying out drying to obtain an iron-carbon composite material.
