Abstract: A fan control circuit includes an integrated circuit (IC), a thermistor, and a transistor. A first input of the IC is connected to a fan power supply. A second input of the IC is connected to a stand-by power supply. A base of the transistor is grounded through the thermistor. An emitter of the transistor is connected to an output of the IC. A collector of the transistor is connected to a fan.

Abstract: A method is described for producing an amended realization of a geostatistical model of a hydrocarbon reservoir using the Karhunen-Loève (KL) expansion. The KL expansion may be used to produce amended realizations for history matching and is widely used. However, it is necessary in order to use the KL expansion to perform singular value decomposition of the covariance matrix of the model to provide eigenvectors and eigen values for use in the expansion. In a typical geostatistical model, the covariance matrix is too large for singular value decomposition to be performed. Prior solutions to this problem involved reducing the resolution of the model so as to reduce the size of the covariance matrix. In the method described, a plurality of random realizations are generated and an approximation of the covariance matrix is constructed from the realizations, the approximation matrix having smaller dimensions than the true covariance matrix.

Abstract: A method of synthesizing mechanically resilient titanium carbide (TiC) nano-fibrous felts comprising continuous nanofibers or nano-ribbons with TiC crystallites embedded in carbon matrix, comprising: (a) electrospinning a spin dope for making precursor nanofibers with diameters less than 0.5 ?m; (b) overlaying the nanofibers to produce a nano-fibrous mat (felt); and then (c) heating the nano-felts first at a low temperature, and then at a high temperature for making electrospun continuous nanofibers or nano-ribbons with TiC crystallites embedded in carbon matrix; and (d) chlorinating the above electrospun nano-felts at an elevated temperature to remove titanium for producing carbon-derived-carbon (CDC) nano-fibrous felt with high specific surface areas.

Abstract: A system and method validates design of an electronic product using a computing device. The method establishes design failure data and product failure data of the electronic product in a database. When the design of the electronic product is finished, the method determines whether the design is eligible by examining design modules of the design according to the design failure data in the database. When the design is eligible, the method determines whether the validation of actual samples of the electronic device is successful by validating actual samples of the electronic product according to the product failure data in the database. If the validation of the actual samples is successful, the method acquires abnormal data of executing the actual samples, and updates failure data converted from the abnormal data into the database, if the abnormal data has been acquired.

The invention also discloses the use of stem cells to educate autoreactive immune cells as a mechanism to treat autoimmune diseases and immune disorder-related diseases, such as diabetes. In one aspect of the invention, bioreactors are disclosed closed for modulating lymphocytes and suppressing autoreactive T cells. The bioreactors can include a chamber having at least one positively charged and/or hydrophobic substrate surface, a population of stem cells attached to the substrate surface, an inlet conduit for introducing lymphocytes into the chamber, and an outlet conduit for extracting treated lymphocytes following co-culturing with the stem cells.
