Abstract: A PDN connection release method is disclosed. For one example, a user equipment may determine a service transmission status of a target packet data network PDN connection, location area information corresponding to the target PDN connection, and a current location of the user equipment, and may release the target PDN connection when the user equipment determines that a first condition is met. The target PDN connection can be any one or more of a plurality of PDN connections maintained by the user equipment. The first condition may include the service transmission status of the target PDN connection indicates that service transmission has stopped, and a location area indicated by the location area information corresponding to the target PDN connection does not include the current location of the user equipment.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a data transmission method, user equipment, and a control plane node. User equipment (UE) determines a security attribute of a session of the UE; the UE sends a session establishment request message to a control plane node when the security attribute of the session of the UE does not meet a security requirement of an application. The session establishment request message is used to request to establish a session corresponding to the security requirement of the application. Embodiments of the disclosed method reduce an unnecessary signaling exchange caused by establishment of a new session in a data transmission process to facilitate meeting requirements of different services.

Abstract: Embodiments of this application provide a packet processing method and apparatus, to help reduce control signaling overheads and storage overheads. The method includes: receiving, by a forwarding device, a first rule from a service function chain controller, where the first rule includes a match field, and the match field is a network service header NSH; receiving, by the forwarding device, a first service flow packet, and matching a packet header feature of the first service flow packet with the match field of the first rule; and if the packet header feature of the first service flow packet successfully matches the match field of the first rule, creating, by the forwarding device, a second rule and a third rule according to the first rule, where priorities of the second rule and the third rule are higher than a priority of the first rule.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method, an apparatus, and a system for deploying a service flow forwarding function. The method includes: sending, by a control plane network element, a notification message to an infrastructure controller, the notification message includes at least one forwarding identifier corresponding to a user service flow and includes an identifier of a target forwarding plane network element providing service processing for the user service flow; the notification message is used to instruct the infrastructure controller to determine a first forwarding rule including the at least one forwarding identifier and the identifier of the target forwarding plane network element and send the first forwarding rule to an infrastructure forwarder controlled by the infrastructure controller.

The method may include obtaining, by a control plane network element, a traffic flow charging parameter, the traffic flow charging parameter is an online charging parameter or an offline charging parameter. The method may also include determining a charging measurement parameter based on the traffic flow charging parameter, a charging measurement parameter determined based on the online charging parameter and a charging measurement parameter determined based on the offline charging parameter are charging measurement parameters in one charging measurement parameter set.

Abstract: A paging method and apparatus are provided to simplify a prior-art paging process. The method includes: receiving, by an access device, downlink data, where the downlink data includes a first identifier of a terminal; determining a paging identifier based on the first identifier; and sending, by the access device, a paging message to the terminal, where the paging message carries the paging identifier. After the access device receives the downlink data, the access device can initiate the paging process without using a control plane network element device. The advantages of the innovative paging methods disclosed herein include reduced signaling, shortened signaling transmission, and simplified paging process.

Abstract: This application provides a data transmission method and device. In a process in which a terminal device is handed over from a source access network device to a target access network device, the source access network device processes buffered packet data convergence protocol (PDCP) data, so that when a forwarding tunnel is a tunnel of a session granularity or a group granularity, the target access network device accurately forwards data in the handover process. The method includes: encapsulating, by a source access network device, indication information in an encapsulation header of PDCP data, where the indication information is used to indicate a radio bearer used for sending the PDCP data by a target access network device; and sending, by the source access network device to the target access network device, the PDCP data in which the indication information is encapsulated.

Abstract: An IP address assignment method and an apparatus are provided, to resolve a problem in the prior art that a control plane network element cannot determine, in an IP address assignment process, a terminal device to which IP address information is to be assigned. In the method, after determining an identifier of a terminal device, a core network control plane network element in a mobile communications network assigns IP address information to the terminal device corresponding to the identifier of the terminal device. In this way, after assigning the IP address information, the core network control plane network element can determine a correspondence between the IP address information and the identifier of the terminal device.

A control plane network element establishes, for UE, a first DN connection that uses a first forwarding plane network element as an anchor.
