Abstract: An Internet facsimile server, a mail server, an LDAP server, and a DHCP server are connected to a LAN. When the Internet facsimile server obtains an IP address from the DHCP server, the Internet facsimile server transmits its own electronic mail address and IP address to the LDAP server, and the LDAP server records the electronic mail address and the IP address to a correspondence chart. The mail server that received an electronic mail obtains an IP address from the electronic mail address by referring to the correspondence chart, and transmits the electronic mail to the Internet facsimile server by SMTP. An electronic mail can be distributed to the Internet facsimile server without using a DNS server.

Abstract: A communication terminal loads a screen file necessary for forming a configuration screen from other than the apparatus body which is the subject of the configuration. Following the configuration screen, a user enters configuration data and information, which specifies the destination for transmitting the data. The communication terminal transmits the entered configuration data to an apparatus of the designated destination. A FAX machine receives the configuration data and executes a configuration process. As a result, it becomes unnecessary to provide a memory field for storing the screen file in the apparatus body that is the subject of the configuration.

Abstract: To provide a server device which can uniformly manage various types of network apparatuses, and which can easily carry out a management configuration for operating the network apparatuses by linking the network apparatuses. A display control unit arranges icons indicating the network apparatuses on layout image, and displays the layout image on the display unit in accordance with configuration information. An operation unit accepts an operation to configure management information by triggering icons by a user. In accordance with the operation accepted by the operation unit, the configuration unit carries out a management configuration of the network apparatuses, and registers/updates the configuration information.
