Jobs not matching specifically designated criteria, such as jobs from non-designated clients or for non-designated jobs, are not printed out onto the specially loaded paper type. A user designates the client or job through a designating unit (3) inside the network printer (2). After designation, the client such as a personal computer generates a printing request, which is sent over the network (1) and received by the network printer (2). Upon reception, the printing unit (4) determines whether or not the received request matches the designating criteria.
