  • Publication number: 20020147404
Abstract: To provide an electronic blood pressure monitor with increased measurement accuracy at the time of measurement of blood pressure at the wrist. A cuff has a pressure-increase structure for making a pressure to an ulna side of the wrist higher than a pressure to a radius side. The pressure-increase structure is achieved by providing an extrusion having a width narrower than a width of the cuff on the side facing the ulna portion. The extrusion is projected from the surface of the cuff. When the cuff is mounted on the wrist, the extrusion presses the ulnar portion with a pressure higher than an internal pressure of the cuff.

  • Publication number: 20020077558
Abstract: A vital sign detection device is mounted on the wrist of a subject for measurement of vital sign such as pulse wave and blood pressure and has a regulating portion for restricting the movement of the hand during a measurement. The regulating portion extends from a main body of the device toward the distal end of the hand, and may be a plate integral with the main body or the main body itself moved toward the distal end. When the device is used for the detection of pulse waves, the plate may have a band for tying the hand to the plate for preventing rotation of the wrist joint. When the device is used for the measurement of blood pressure, the main body of the device, which is slidably or rotatably transported toward the distal end, may suppress the movement of hand enough to prevent the rise of wrist tendons from hindering the measurement.

  • Publication number: 20010030680
Abstract: In an electrophotographic apparatus, regions having at least three different potential levels Vc, Vw, and Vr are formed on a photosensitive member by using an exposing device, and developing processes respectively using colored particles of different kinds are performed by normal development and reversal development on two potential levels Vc and Vr excluding the intermediate potential level Vw. The apparatus has an auxiliary exposing unit for forming a fringe development preventing potential in an edge of an image forming region in order to prevent fringe development from occurring. The auxiliary exposing unit sets an auxiliary exposure amount by performing pulse-width modulation on a laser driver.

Abstract: A sensor probe cover (20) is composed of two substantially square transparent films (21) and (22) and a ring (23) having a hole (23a) suitable for being mated with a sensor probe (12). The center of the first film (21) is provided with a hole (21a), and the ring (23) is fused to the inner periphery of the hole (21a) on the inner surface of the first film (21). The ring (23) is made of a material harder than that of the films. The first film (21) and the second film (22) are thermally fused together at the four corners of these films. The thermally fused locations are indicated at (20a). When used in the cover of the probe of an infrared thermometer, the second film (22) is made of a material transparent to infrared radiation. When the tip of the probe (12) is pressed into the ring (23) from above the second film (22), the probe (12) is covered while the second film (22) is folded back. The fitting on of the cover is completed when the ring (23) fits into an annular groove (12a) of the probe (12).
