  • Patent number: 7144374
Abstract: A cuff for a blood pressure monitor includes a cuff main unit wound around a measurement site of a living body, and a handle provided on the outer peripheral surface of the cuff main unit and gripped with a hand for fitting the cuff. The cuff main unit includes a cover member in which an air bag for pressing the living body and a curled elastic member wound annularly on the outside of the air bag and radially changeable in size are contained, and a diameter increasing/decreasing mechanism for increasing/decreasing a diameter of the curled elastic member. The handle has a push-button for increasing/decreasing the diameter of the curled elastic member by switching an operation of the diameter increasing/decreasing mechanism. This can provide a cuff for a blood pressure monitor permitting easy mounting/dismounting with respect to the measurement site of the living body.

  • Patent number: 7118535
Abstract: Prior to blood pressure calculations, air is enclosed in a blood pressure measurement bladder to be wound and mounted around the region for measurement, in advance. By referring to the variation in the pressure therein, the circumferential length of the region for measurement is detected based on the variation in the pressure therein during the winding correction determination process for the region for measurement. Then, the process enters blood pressure measurement, and the blood pressure measurement bladder is pressurized or depressurized. The pressure in the blood pressure measurement bladder is detected. A blood pressure based on the detected pressure is calculated according to the circumferential length of the region for measurement which has been detected in advance.

  • Patent number: 7095304
Abstract: According to a solenoid air valve, a flange portion of a moving core and a flange portion area of a bobbin implement a stop area defining a distance of travel of the moving core in a direction away from a fixed core. An end portion of a shaft portion of the moving core can project outward through an opening of a frame cover, so that a gap between a surface of the frame cover facing the shaft portion and a side surface of the shaft portion (distance: L2) can be minimized. Consequently, a solenoid air valve having a structure allowing improvement in magnetic efficiency by making smaller the gap between the frame and the moving core is provided.

  • Publication number: 20060184054
Abstract: An air bag being inflated and deflated as air comes in and out is included. The air bag is formed of a flexible sheet material. The air bag has at least an inner circumferential sheet positioned inside when a blood pressure monitor cuff is wrapped around a living body, and an outer circumferential sheet positioned on the outer circumferential side of the inner circumferential sheet. The sheet material forming the air bag has a thickness of 0.15 mm or less. Therefore, big deep wrinkles appearing on the inner surface of the fluid bag fitted on a living body can be reduced, which may otherwise give an adverse effect on blood pressure measurement.

  • Publication number: 20060178584
Abstract: A cuff for a blood pressure monitor includes an air bag, a curled elastic member wound annularly and changeable in size in a radial direction, and a bag-shaped cover member containing the air bag and the curled elastic member. The bag-shaped cover member is formed by stacking an outer cover and an inner cover and connecting their rims together. The inner cover has a folded portion formed by folding back its end portion in the width direction. The folded portion is located between the end portion in the width direction of the outer cover and the end portion in the width direction of the curled elastic member. Thus, a cuff for a blood pressure monitor easy to manufacture, suitable for reduction of cuff width, excellent in handling property when fitting, and suppressing curling and fraying of the bag-shaped cover member can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20060149153
Abstract: Provide is a blood pressure meter cuff capable of avoiding an influence of an edge effect by pressurizing only a portion of a blood vessel in the downward vicinity of the body surface to thereby measure a correct blood pressure. A blood pressure meter cuff 1 includes: a fluid bag into which a fluid is injected; and a fixing tool fixing the fluid bag on a limb of a human body or the like, wherein a width in the axial direction of the limb, of the fluid bag is a value suitable for selectively pressurizing only a portion of a blood vessel present in the downward vicinity of the skin. In a case where pressurization is imposed on only a portion of the radial artery present in the downward vicinity of the body surface and adjacent to a radial styloid process of a wrist, a width, in the axial direction of a limb, of the fluid bag is set to 15 mm or more and 25 mm or less.

  • Publication number: 20060135873
Abstract: A cuff for a blood pressure monitor has an air bag inflated/deflated as the air comes in/out. The air bag has an inner wall portion located on the inner side in the fitted state of the cuff and an outer wall portion located outer than the inner wall portion, and a side wall portion connecting side end portions of the inner and outer wall portions and folded inwards in the deflated state of the air bag to form a gusset at each side end portion of the air bag. A bonded portion is provided at a region of the air bag in its winding direction around the living body, for reducing expansion of the gusset formed by the side wall portion. Thus, occurrence of lateral displacement of the cuff is prevented, and a highly reliable blood pressure monitor of high performance can be obtained.
