  • Patent number: 5561514
Abstract: An image forming apparatus for forming images of plurality of pages on one cut sheet, includes: a sheet cutting mechanism for cutting a cut sheet on which images of a plurality of pages have been formed into smaller sheets the number of which corresponds to the number of the pages; a sheet arranging mechanism for arranging the smaller sheets thus provided; and a sheet stacking mechanism for stacking the smaller sheets thus arranged. Hence, it is unnecessary for the apparatus to have a sheet post-processing apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5511551
Abstract: A cuff for a blood pressure meter includes material that does not stretch and in which the length of the surface in contact with the finger does not vary when the cuff is filled with compressed air, regardless of the diameter of the finger. Because the internal pressure in the cuff closely approximates the blood pressure of the finger, the device is accurate. Compressed air is pumped into chambers formed by a basic structure and containment walls. Folded portions which are provided on the containment walls cause surfaces of the containment walls which contact the object to be measured to remain parallel to protruding bodies located on the basic structure as they are displaced by inflation of the chambers.

  • Patent number: 5487607
Abstract: A radiation clinical thermometer includes a moveable probe which actuates a start switch when inserted into a patients ear. The radiation clinical thermometer also includes a probe cover device for dismounting a probe cover from the probe. The probe cover device is operatively connected in circuit with the start switch to only allow operation of the thermometer when the probe cover device is in a position indicating that a probe cover is mounted on the probe. The thermometer also includes time delay devices which preclude operating the thermometer unless the start switch or the probe cover detection device is in a predetermined position for a predetermined amount of time.

  • Patent number: 5340215
Abstract: An upper portion of a case body (1) of a radiant-temperature clinical thermometer is integrally formed to include a supporting frame (11) to which a supporting cylinder (2) is secured horizontally. The tip of the supporting cylinder (2) projects outwardly and a radiant-temperature sensor (3) for sensing heat rays from the external ear is secured to the end face of the tip. A cylindrical probe (4) is supported on the supporting cylinder (2) so as to be free to slide, and the cylindrical probe (4) is biased by a coil spring (42) in a direction that thrusts the probe outwardly. A flange (41) on the base end of the cylindrical probe (4) abuts against a stopper (12) of the supporting frame (11), whereby the extended position of the cylindrical probe (4) is determined. A cover ( 9 ) is attached to the tip portion of the cylindrical probe (4).

  • Patent number: 5270663
Abstract: A liquid mixing ratio detecting apparatus is designed so that an oscillation voltage generated by an oscillation unit is applied to one of a differentiating circuit and an integrating circuit, which is constituted by a combination of a capacitor composed of a pair of opposite electrodes for detecting a mixing ratio of a mixed liquid and a resistor, and a mixing ratio detecting unit produces a signal relating to an inclination rate of one of a differential waveform signal and an integration waveform signal, which is generated by one of the differentiating circuit and the integrating circuit, respectively, thereby obtaining a signal representing the mixing ratio of the mixed liquid on the basis of the produced signal relating to the inclination rate of the waveform signal.

  • Patent number: 5120507
Abstract: A reflection plate for a biochemical measuring instrument which is adapted to evaluate a biochemical value by obtaining a reflective property of a reflection surface of the reference reflection plate, obtaining a reflective property of test paper impregnated with biochemical sample and mounted on a test stick, and comparing the two reflective properties, wherein: the reflection surface of the reference reflection plate is depressed from the periphery thereof. Thereby, even though the test stick is required to be placed adjacent to the reflection surface to achieve a uniformity the optical arrangement in obtaining the two reflective properties, the contamination of the reflection surface from the sample can be prevented. Preferably, the reference reflection plate itself may be provided with a depression to defined the reflection surface at the bottom of this depression.

  • Patent number: 5037614
Abstract: This device measures the level of a certain chemical in a liquid infiltrated into a piece of test paper impregnated with a test chemical the optical properties of which alter according to the level of the certain chemical. It includes: a test paper holder, provided in a test paper insertion unit provided in a casing; a device for emitting light and a device for sensing light, both provided to oppose a piece of test paper held by the holder; a cover, slidably mounted to the casing, for selectably covering over the insertion unit; a device for biasing this cover in one direction; a device for engaging this cover in an extreme position in the opposite direction; and a device for releasing the engagement of the engaging device. This engagement releasing device may be a press button provided to the casing; and the sliding direction of the cover may be its opening direction of movement, or alternatively may be its closing direction of movement.

  • Patent number: 4935125
Abstract: A dialysis system operates to supply dialysate to a dialyzer from a feed chamber in response to a reduction in the volume of the feed chamber, and to recover used dialysate which is flowed out from the dialyzer into a recovery chamber in response to an increase in the volume of the recovery chamber. The increase in the volume of the recovery chamber is greater in magnitude than the magnitude of a reduction in the volume of the feed chamber, with a difference therebetween being effective to control the amount of ultrafiltration. At least two sets of feed chambers and recovery chambers may be provided, and a supply of the dialysate from the other feed chamber may be initiated before the supply from one of the feed chambers is completed, thus allowing the dialysate to be continuously supplied to the dialyzer.

  • Patent number: 4732313
Abstract: A lead frame is conveyed along a convey direction in a convey path filled with a reducing gas. A semiconductor pellet is placed on the lead frame at a die bonding portion. A bonding wire made of copper or a copper alloy is supplied to the next wire bonding portion. The lower end of the bonding wire is melted with an oxyhydrogen torch surrounded by an air curtain, thereby forming a ball. The bonding wire is guided into the convey path by a capillary. The ball is thermocompressed to an electrode pad of the semiconductor pellet. The other end of the bonding wire is fused and thermocompressed against the outer lead of the lead frame at a postbonding portion. The bonding wire is thus looped between the semiconductor pellet and the outer lead.
