  • Publication number: 20040174456
Abstract: It is an object of this invention to realize stable autofocus operation by reducing the influence of an object which is different from a main object and exists on the periphery of a distance measurement frame on the autofocus operation. In order to achieve this object, an image sensing apparatus includes an image sensing device which generates an image sensing signal by photoelectrically converting light from an object, an extraction unit which extracts a predetermined frequency component from a signal component corresponding to a focus detection area in a frame sensed by the image sensing device, a weighting circuit which weights the predetermined frequency component extracted by the extraction unit, and a driving unit which moves a focusing lens to an in-focus position on the basis of the signal weighted by the weighting circuit.

  • Patent number: 6777854
Abstract: A method of adjusting the temperature properties of piezoelectric devices and oscillation circuits which have a third-order function temperature property and the point of inflection of the third-order function temperature property outside the normal usage temperature range. • Patent number: 6670860
Abstract: The invention provides an oscillator and a control method for controlling the oscillator which reliably oscillates even when the oscillator is driven at a low voltage. An oscillator repeats a startup operation and a suspension of the startup operation by turning on and off a switch with half a period of a Schmitt trigger oscillator circuit, until a piezoelectric oscillator circuit is put into a normal oscillation state. The oscillator thus creates a number of opportunities of transient response allowing the oscillation amplitude of the piezoelectric oscillator circuit to grow, and reliably oscillates.

  • Patent number: 6278672
Abstract: An optical pickup provided opposed to an optical disc D is moved in the optical axis direction with a drive signal from a focus search circuit to detect, with an amplitude detecting circuit, the character “S” shape waveform of large amplitude corresponding to the recording surface of optical disc of the focus error signal FE obtained from the optical pickup and such detected output is counted by a counter. When the character “S” shape waveform of large amplitude appears twice, an interval thereof is measured with a time measuring circuit and width of interval is detected with an interval detecting circuit. The counted value of counter and detected output of the interval detecting circuit are supplied to a microcomputer to automatically detect a type of optical disc. Thereby, a reproducing device which can be used for a plurality of reflection type optical discs may be structured.

  • Patent number: 6134198
Abstract: A tracking error signal calculation circuit has peak detection multiplication circuits which detect the peaks of the detection signals of left and right regions of a photodiode and multiply a coefficient for detecting the deviation of the beam light with respect to the track of the disc recording medium, subtraction circuits for removing an offset by subtracting these multiplication results from the detection signals, and a subtraction circuit which calculates a difference of the signal obtained by removing the offset (performs push-pull operation) and outputs a tracking error signal. The value of the coefficient can be changed by adding an alignment signal to the detection signal. In order to impart the frequency dependency to this coefficient, the alignment signal is added to the signal through a filter.
