  • Patent number: 4682694
Abstract: Disclosed is a device by which a defective product is removed from a path through which products are continually fed. The device has a feeder feeding products, a sensor detecting defective products, and a remover taking the defective products from the path. The sensor outputs a signal denoting a defect in either the trailing half of a first product or the leading half of an adjacent second product. The remover has a function for obtaining the number which is a quotient obtained by dividing the distance between the sensor and the remover by the length of a normal product. The remover takes out the defective and the adjacent product when the number of products passing the remover is equal to the quotient obtained by the above calculation.

  • Patent number: 4558695
Abstract: A heat exchanger such as a radiator for an automotive engine is produced by fixing lengths of flattened tubes and corrugated fins to each other by brazing within a furnace. The flattened tube is formed by bending a strip and welding the opposing edges of the bent strip to each other to form a tube of a substantially circular cross-section, and applying pressure to the tube along the weld line to form the flattened tube while depressing the tube wall along the weld line to form an elongated recess or groove along the weld line. Then, a brazing material is applied to the outer surfaces of the flattened tube to cover and fill up any minute weld defects which may exist in the flattened tube whereby the weld defects are repaired.

  • Patent number: 4124294
Abstract: Light emission regulation device according to which light which is emitted from a light source and is transmitted by an optical system onto a required object or objects is detected by a light detection element which is located externally to the optical system and produces or controls an output which is proportional to light incident on the light detection element and is supplied to a control means which in response controls actuation input to the light source whereby light emission is maintained at a requisite level. The light detection element being external to the optical system, light emission regulation is unaffected by the condition of elements of the optical system or material in the optical path over which light is transmitted.

  • Patent number: 4113374
Abstract: The present invention is an electrophotographic copying apparatus which includes a group of switches disposed along the path of the copy paper. These switches are so arranged as to control the functions of corona charging, exposure and aligning the forward edge of the image formed on the photoreceptor with the leading edge of the copy paper, while the starting of the transfer device and the function of the copy paper separation device are controlled through a control cam which is driven by actuating signals produced by one of these switches. Since the developing and transfer functions are arranged to be suspended by a drum cam rotating as one unit with the photoreceptor drum, the possibility of copy paper jamming is decreased to a large extent through reduction of the number of switches employed, while undesirable developing and transfer at the slot portion or seam portion of the photoreceptor are advantageously eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4111578
Abstract: Fittings for connecting columns and beams of a steel frame construction, each comprising a substantially rectangular base plate to be connected to the column by means of high strength bolts and having centrally a horizontally continuous thicker portion from which the base plate is tapered toward upper and lower edges, a horizontal protrusion projecting from the thicker portion in opposition to a flange of the beam and vertical protrusion in opposition to a web of the beam and projecting from the base plate to form with the horizontal protrusion a T-shaped protrusion.

  • Patent number: 4105914
Abstract: Presetting counter device for control of single or repeated actuation of a piece of equipment permits stopping of equipment action during continuous repeat action thereof if required, and always resets a display means for an indication of the number of times the device is required to be actuated to "1" when the equipment is thus stopped and after single or repeated actuation of the equipment, whereby manual resetting action by a user is unnecessary. As the device requires manual actuation only of a resetting switch, an initial count means for specifying a required number of actions during actuation of the equipment, and a start switch, equipment control with the device is extremely simple.

  • Patent number: 4071721
Abstract: In operating an apparatus provided with a plurality of various component devices incorporated therein, it is necessary to provide some type of sequential controller when the plurality of the devices are required to be operated sequentially for predetermined periods, independently of each other. The improved type of sequential controller of the present disclosure has a plurality of cam plates each of which is provided with switch units for controlling the operating periods of the various component devices, and which are rotated by a driving means, a lock claw for engaging with the cam plates and a controller for controlling the movement of the lock claw, so that the predetermined rotation of the cam plates controls the operating periods of the various devices.
