  • Patent number: 8497913
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus is disclosed which provides an appropriate inclination guide display in accordance with an aspect ratio of a picked-up image and the like. The image pickup apparatus includes an inclination detector which detects an inclination of the image pickup apparatus, a display device capable of superimposedly showing an inclination guide display corresponding to a detection output from the inclination detector, on a picked-up image, and an aspect ratio setter which sets the aspect ratio of a picked-up image. The apparatus includes a display controller which controls whether or not to show the inclination guide display on the display device on the basis of the aspect ratio set by the aspect ratio setter.

  • Publication number: 20130019209
Abstract: An image processing apparatus acquires from a moving image, frames captured at predetermined time intervals or at positions of predetermined intervals with respect to a direction of gravity, and generates thumbnail images. The image processing apparatus then displays the thumbnail images in a display area at positions corresponding to the water depths at which the frames corresponding to the generated thumbnail images were captured.

  • Publication number: 20120281243
Abstract: The present invention has an objective of providing an image formation apparatus that can output binary image data on a printing medium with a favorable quality. According to the present invention, a plurality of different pieces of mask data stored in a storage unit is used to generate a plurality of different pieces of divided data. Then, the frequency characteristic information of the respective plurality of generated thinned images is calculated. Thereafter, the pieces of frequency characteristic information of the respective plurality of generated thinned images are compared to select, from among the plurality of pieces of mask data stored in the storage unit, a divided mask pattern to be used for the input image data. Then, the selected divided mask pattern is used to form the image.

  • Publication number: 20120044526
Abstract: A printing apparatus encodes masks used for thinning out print data when performing multi-pass printing and provided in correspondence with passes, and stores the encoded masks in a memory. The printing apparatus includes an assignment unit that assigns different codes with respect to pixels that indicate dot-on and are held in the masks provided in correspondence with the passes, depending on for which pass of mask processing the masks are used, and an encoding unit that generates, using the different codes, index data indicating pixels that indicate dot-on and are held in the masks corresponding to the passes, and generates encoded data by encoding the index data. Here, the encoding unit determines an assignment relationship in which the different codes are assigned to the passes by the assignment unit such that the encoded data is smaller than the data size of original masks, and generates the encoded data.

  • Patent number: 7911525
Abstract: When the present position of a focus lens is on the closest distance side with respect to a predetermined position, the focus lens is driven and controlled using a TV-AF method without using the output result of an external ranging unit, and thereby a malfunction of an AF control due to parallax between an image pickup optical system and an external sensor is prevented.

  • Patent number: 7860387
Abstract: By using a result of a detection of an object such as a face, stable focus adjustment of the object can be performed with accuracy. Even if an area that includes the object is not detected, if a tilt of an imaging apparatus is not changed, or a panning or a tilting operation is not detected, a focus detection area, which is used when the object is detected, is maintained.

  • Publication number: 20100321743
Abstract: A method for coding mask data containing information indicating, for each pixel, presence of thinning of image data in order to perform multipass recoding for a predetermined area of a recording medium by N (N: integer of 2 or more) times, includes acquiring a plurality of mask data, assigning a code represented by a number of bits smaller than N based on information contained in the same address of the acquired mask data and use-order of the mask data, and generating coded data containing the assigned code corresponding to an arrangement of the address that the mask data retains information thereof.

  • Patent number: 7675547
Abstract: An image pickup apparatus which is capable of enhancing the accuracy of shake correction. A shake-detecting sensor detects a shake of an apparatus body. A microcomputer computes a shake amount based on an output from the shake-detecting sensor. A camera signal processing circuit corrects motion of an image due to camera shake based on an output from the microcomputer. A rest-determining device determines, based on the output from the shake-detecting sensor, whether or not the apparatus body is at rest. A recorder records a picked-up image. A recorder vibration-determining device determines whether or not the apparatus body is vibrating due to vibration of the recorder. A cutoff frequency-setting device changes characteristics of the microcomputer based on a result of determination by the rest-determining device and a result of determination by the recorder vibration-determining device.
