    Abstract: A room temperature vulcanizable silicone rubber composition is described. The composition comprises an organopolysiloxane which is blocked with a hydroxyl group or hydrolyzable group at ends of the molecular chain thereof, fumed silica which is surface treated with a monoorganosilane of the general formula, R.sup.1 SiY.sub.3, or a monoorganopolysilazane of the general compositional formula, R.sup.1 Si(NH).sub.3/2, wherein R.sup.1 in each formula represents a monovalent hydrocarbon group and each Y represents a hydrolyzable group and which has a specific area of not less than 50 m.sup.2 /g, and an organosilicon compound of the general formula, R.sup.2.sub.1 SiZ.sub.4-1, wherein R.sup.2 represents an unsubstituted or substituted monovalent hydrocarbon group, Z represents a hydrolyzable group, and 1 is a value of 0 or 1, or its partially hydrolyzed product. The composition may further comprise a promoter for the vulcanization.

    Abstract: A room temperature-curable organopolysiloxane composition capable of giving a highly oil-resistant cured silicone rubber is disclosed. The composition comprises, as the essential ingredients, a hydroxy-terminated diorganopolysiloxane, an iminoxysilane compound as a crosslinking agent, an organotin compound as a catalyst and, as an oil-resistance improver, a combination of zinc carbonate and zinc hydroxide in a powdery form of which the content of zinc hydroxide is, different from conventional basic zinc carbonate, 5 to 50% by weight. By virtue of this unique ingredient, the composition is also advantageous in respect of the high storage stability.

    Abstract: The invention provides a foamable organopolysiloxane composition capable of giving, by foaming and curing at room temperature, a silicone rubber foam of high foaming expansion having very uniform and dense cellular structure. The composition is prepared by a process comprising the steps of: (A) compounding an .alpha.,.omega.-dihydroxy dimethylpolysiloxane with a reinforcing silica filler, hexamethyl disilazane and water as the hydrolysis agent of the silazane to give a compound; (B) removing ammonia in the compound formed by the hydrolysis of the silazane compound as completely as possible; and (C) compounding the compound with a polyhydroxy methylpolysiloxane, an organohydrogenpolysiloxane and a platinum compound as a catalyst for the dehydrogenation reaction between the silanolic hydroxy groups and the silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms to produce hydrogen as the foaming gas.

The composition gives a cured and foamed silicone rubber body having excellent mechanical properties with a good cell structure by standing at room temperature or by heating up to 70.degree. C.
