  • Patent number: 6170743
Abstract: The object of the present invention is to enable to prevent an erroneous erase of a data stored or writing another data on the data as well as to enable to easily switch an erroneous erase prevention switch. A command generator, upon reception of a register instruction for checking a state of a memory card received via an S/P & P/S sequencer, sets a state of an erroneous erase prevention switch in a register and transmits this register content via the S/P & P/S sequencer to a host computer. According to the register content from the memory card, the host computer decides whether a write protect is ON and executes a write inhibit processing when the write protect is ON.

  • Patent number: 6016139
Abstract: In a motion picture reproducing apparatus, or a motion picture recording and reproducing apparatus, an index picture storage means stores a plurality of index pictures extracted from a series of motion pictures in time sequence at a assigned extraction timing in respective storage positions in a motion picture storage medium by associating each index picture with a different storage position. An index picture display means arranges and displays the index pictures read from the index picture storage means on the display screen in time sequence. Selective means select a desired target reproduction picture to be reproduced, and reproduction position control means allow movement to a recording position corresponding to the selected target reproduction position to initiate a reproducing operation, thus allowing search conditions to be visually and intuitively determined when searching stored data on the motion picture storage medium, and providing substantially improved user-friendliness.

  • Patent number: 5784511
Abstract: A connector apparatus for interconnecting at least two electronic apparatuses, such as a personal computer and a printer, interconnects input/output units of the equipment each having a light emitting element and a light receiving element. The connector apparatus enables data transmission/reception between the equipment. The connector apparatus includes at least two optical fibers and a pair of connecting units. The connecting units include a pair of connecting portions for holding both ends of the optical fibers. Each connecting portion has a magnet portion for attracting by the equipment and a limiting portion for limiting the rotational position at the time of connection to the equipment. With the ends of the optical fibers connected by the connecting portions to the electronic equipment, the ends of the optical fibers are held in the state of enabling data transmission/reception with the input/output units of the equipment.

  • Patent number: 5526125
Abstract: An editing device for sequentially editing desired scenes or cuts. The editing device includes a CPU 11 which, when triggered by actuation of an edit button switch 12, issues a rewind playback command signal to a video camera 1 for a pre-set time, while issuing a pause canceling command signal to a VTR 2. After lapse of a pre-set time since the issuance of the pause canceling command signal, as set by a rotary switch 13, the CPU 11 outputs a pause setting command signal to the VTR 2. An infrared LED 14 converts the command signals from the CPU 11 and outputs the converted signals. The editing may be achieved by a simple operation of pressing the edit button switch 12 for facilitating the operation as compared to that with the conventional device.

  • Patent number: 5327306
Abstract: A video camera with a tape deck mechanism in which the rotary head drum and tape loading device is inserted completely into a dead space in the tape cassette, the lid of the cassette is then closed and the recording/playback operation performed. The tape deck mechanism is reduced in size by having multiple chassis that slide into and fold over each other with the tape cassette contained therein. The tape deck mechanism operates in conjunction with a special tape cassette to increase the available dead space by moving the cassette tape reels apart when the head drum chassis slides into another chassis holding the cassette. The lid of the cassette is opened with a mechanism that does require pressure against the cassette to overcome the lid-closing spring of the cassette. The tape deck mechanism can be arranged with the known video camera electronics and optics in various configurations to provide a compact video camera.

  • Patent number: 5225954
Abstract: A tape cassette comprises a housing and a pair of reels mounted for rotation in the housing. A recording tape is wound on the reels and extends therebetween for transport from one of the reels to the other. The housing is formed with an opening through which a transducer can gain access to the recording tape for recording or reproducing signals on or from the recording tape. Front and back lids are connected to the housing and movable between a closed position wherein the front and back lids block the opening and form a channel capable of enclosing the recording medium at a front portion of the housing and an open position wherein the front and back lids are displaced from the opening and from the recording medium. The back lid is formed to leave a pair of gaps near either end thereof capable of accommodating passage of the recording medium therethrough when the front and back lids are in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 5224004
Abstract: A tape cassette comprises a housing and a pair of reels mounted for rotation and translation in the housing so that the reels can assume either of first and second relative positions. A recording tape is wound on the reels and extends therebetween for transport from one of the reels to the other. The housing is formed with an opening through which a transducer can gain access to the recording tape for recording or reproducing signals on or from the recording tape. The reels in the first relative position conformed to a first arrangement of a drive for driving the reels in rotation and afford a predetermined amount of space for accommodating a transducer within the housing for access to the recording tape and in the second relative position correspond to a second arrangement of a drive for driving the reels in rotation and afford an additional amount of space for accommodating a transducer within the housing for access to the recording tape.
