  • Patent number: 4941455
Abstract: There is disclosed an endoscope incorporating a device for bending a bendable portion of the endoscope. A pair of operating wires are fixedly connected at their distal ends to a distal end of the bendable portion, and are extended respectively around a pair of engaging members. The proximal ends of the operating wires are retained by a retaining member. When an operating shaft, operatively connected to the engaging members through a connecting member, is angularly moved, one of the two engaging members is moved away from the bendable portion. As a result, one of the operating wires associated with the one engaging member is pulled to bend the bendable portion. Alternatively, first and second operating shafts, four operating wires and four engaging members can be employed so that the bendable portion can be bent in two directions generally perpendicular to each other.

  • Patent number: 4928024
Abstract: An ECL transistor pair is connected in parallel with a third transistor. A complementary signal is applied to the transistor pair. A high level of a signal that is applied to the third transistor is effectively higher than a high level of the input to the pair of transistors; and a low level of the signal applied to the third transistor is effectively lower than the high level of the input to the pair of transistors. The low level input to the third transistor enables the ECL circuit to output the complementary input signal and assures high speed ECL operation. The high level of the input to the third transistor disables the ECL circuit from outputting the complementary input signal.

  • Patent number: 4796134
Abstract: In a magnetic head of perpendicular magnetization type having main and sub magnetic poles arranged at both sides of a recording medium, a nonmagnetic supporter holding a high permeability magnetic thin layer of the main magnetic pole is formed by a polycrystalline sintered body substantially composed of titanium carbide and alumina. This polycrystalline sintered product well matches with a recording medium having a cobalt-chromium alloy layer so that the recording medium does not wear for a long time of use, and therefore, so that the contact surface of the main magnetic pole is hardly damaged. The same sintered body may also be used for the sub magnetic pole arranged to be in contact with the recording medium. Some structural improvements are also provided so that undesirable influence due to an adhesive layer adjacent to the magnetic thin layer is removed. One or more additional thin layers may be provided for reducing crosstalk between adjacent tracks.
