    Abstract: The double glazed panel assembly comprises a glass holder frame which includes an inner annular glass supporting surface and an outer annular glass supporting surface which extends along an outer periphery of the inner annular glass supporting surface in a laterally spaced relationship and is raised relative to the inner annular glass supporting surface, and the outer and inner glass sheets are supported by the outer and inner annular glass supporting surfaces, respectively. Therefore, the outer peripheral part of the outer glass sheet provides an inwardly facing surface (facing the corresponding glass supporting surface of the glass holder frame) that is available as a surface for bonding onto the glass holder frame so that the outer glass sheet as well as the inner glass sheet can be firmly attached to the glass holder frame, and a required integrity of the assembly can be ensured even though the panel assembly presents a flush outer surface.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a sample-analyzing method, in which an incident beam slit is provided between an X-ray source and a sample, a receiving side beam slit is provided between the sample and an X-ray detector, the X-ray detector detects X-rays scattered again from the sample and coming through the receiving side beam slit when the sample is irradiated with the X-rays applied through the incident beam slit, and a value is measured from a value detected by the X-ray detector. In the method, a true value is measured from the value, by using a slit function representing an influence which the incident beam slit and receiving side beam slit impose on the detected value. The slit function is determined from an intensity distribution of the X-rays scattered again from the sample. The method obtains an accurate slit function in accordance with the structure of the optical system employed and can therefore analyze the sample with high precision.

    Abstract: A scroll type fluid machinery with spiral wraps set up on inner surfaces of end plates, respectively. The spiral wraps are engaged with each other at a predetermined angle dislocation and are housed in a housing with an opening in one end of a cup-shaped casing. This opening is blocked with a front case. The stationary scroll is fixed to the cup-shaped casing, and the revolving scroll is made to revolve in a solar motion by a revolution drive mechanism while checking the rotation on its axis by a mechanism for checking rotation on its axis. In an assembling method thereof, positioning portions are engaged with a positioning jig provided in the stationary scroll and the cup-shaped casing, respectively, and the positioning portions are utilized. With this machinery and method, the number of parts, working time and assembly time are reduced and the manufacturing cost may be cut down.

    Abstract: A scroll-type compressor has a ring-shaped protruding portion of a front case is fitted into an opening end of a case body so as to construct a housing, a stationary scroll and a revolving scroll which are engaged with each other when they are disposed in the housing. The stationary scroll is fixed to the housing, and at the same time, the revolving scroll is made to revolve in solar motion by a revolution drive mechanism from a rotary shaft while checking rotation on its axis of the revolving scroll by a rotation check mechanism. More particularly, a compressor in which a gas suction port is opened at a location where the ring-shaped protruding portion of the case body is engaged and at least one and more draught holes including a through hole which penetrates to the inside opposing to the suction port are provided on the ring-shaped protruding portion. It is thereby possible to improve cooling and lubrication of the rotation check mechanism and the revolution drive mechanism.

    Abstract: According to the present invention, when means is provided for correcting a shift in phase of an engine rotation pulse and a dispersion in responses of an electromagnetic spill valve, and a control signal to a fuel injection pump is corrected in response to an output from the correcting means, if abnormality of output from the correcting means is detected, then the control signal to the fuel injection pump is corrected by use of a fixed valve. As a consequence, even when the output from the correcting means is abnormal, neither excessively large nor excessively small correction is performed and the running at the lowest level can be made, preventing the diesel smoke from being deteriorated and the engine from being damaged.

    Abstract: In controlling ignition timing in accordance with a deviation between a target ignition timing determined on the basis of at least an engine load and an engine speed and an actual ignition timing detected by use of an ignition timing sensor, when non-perfect explosion operating conditions, wherein an ignition signal is difficult to detect, or operating conditions in which the ignition signal is instable are present, an open loop control on the basis of the engine load and the engine speed is effected. Feedback control is effected when the ignition signal is detected with neither non-perfect explosion operating conditions nor instable ignition signal operating conditions being present. When the ignition signal is not detected, the aforesaid open loop control is effected and a trouble in the ignition timing sensor is detected.

    Abstract: In controlling a time period of energization of a high pressure electromagnetic valve (50) in accordance with a target value of a fuel injection quantity determined from at least an engine speed (Ne) and an engine load, when a target indicated value (theta) of the time period of energization determined from at least the engine speed and the engine load is lower than a zero indicated value (theta.sub.0) of the time period of energization when the fuel injection quantity becomes zero, which is determined from the engine speed, the energization of the high pressure electromagnetic valve is cut off. Therefore, the duty cycle of the high pressure electromagnetic valve is decreased thereby increasing the reliability of the valve. In addition, fuel is reliably cut off when the fuel injection quantity is 0 mm.sup.3 /st thus avoiding fuel leakage and preventing the generation of white exhaust smoke. Fuel economy can therefore be improved.

This valve includes a pilot valve which selectively vents the high pressure chamber, which is operated to open and close by selective supply of electrical energy thereto, and a balance member which is driven by a fluid force arising when the pilot valve is thus opened and a relatively small flow of fuel is released from the high pressure chamber, and which when so driven releases a relatively large flow of fuel from the high pressure chamber.

    Abstract: A fuel injection pump for a diesel engine includes a housing having a bore within which a plunger reciprocates according to the operation of the engine, the bore defining a pumping chamber at an end of the plunger. The pumping chamber is communicated to a fuel intake passage only when the plunger is moving in a direction to enlarge the size of the pumping chamber and being communicated to fuel injection nozzles only when the plunger is moving in a direction to reduce the size of the pumping chamber. A first electromagnetic valve for fuel shutoff is provided at a middle portion of the fuel intake passage. A second electromagnetic valve, advantageously used also for fuel amount control by timely venting the pumping chamber in its compression stroke, communicates the pumping chamber to the intake passage downstream of the first electromagnetic valve for at least a predetermined short time period when the first electromagnetic valve is closed.

There is provided a means for determining whether or not the voltage across the solenoid coil of the electromagnetic valve, when supply of power thereto changes from the ON to the OFF condition, rises higher than a certain value, or not.
