    Abstract: A developing device includes a developer bearer, a magnetic field generator provided inside the developer bearer, a casing including an opening to partly expose a surface of the developer bearer, and a lateral end cover to cover an axial end portion of the exposed surface of the developer bearer. The lateral end cover includes a wide portion extending more to an axial inner side of the developer bearer than a downstream portion of the lateral end cover positioned downstream from the wide portion in a direction of rotation of the developer bearer. A downstream end of the wide portion is downstream from an upstream end of the development range in the direction of rotation of the developer bearer.

According to this getter material, since the temperature at which the pressed powder mixture starts the exothermic reaction is set within a range from 750° C. to 900° C., there can be provided a getter material and an evaporation type getter device capable of suitably controlling an evaporation amount of getter components under a stable condition, and is excellent in responsiveness because a time ranging from a starting time of heating the getter material to a starting time of evaporation of the getter components can be shortened.

Transistors Tr1 and Tr2 are switched on and off in accordance with the bit values of 2-bit data that expresses ternary value data, which generates three-stage variations in the electromagnetic field between coils L1 and L2.
