  • Publication number: 20070063921
Abstract: A multi display device includes: a first display disposed at a predetermined position; a second display disposed 10B in front of the first display 10A and being movable from a first position where the second display overlaps with the first display to a second position where the second display does not overlap with the first display; and a transferring member for moving the second display. When the first display is mainly monitored, the second display is transferred to the second position, and when the second display is mainly monitored, the second display is transferred to the first position.

  • Publication number: 20070040662
Abstract: The meter has a back light illuminating with a predetermined color, a display portion disposed in font of the back light and being changeable between a positive mode and a negative mode at a predetermined state, and a reverse control device determining whether an engine of a vehicle is in an initial starting step or the vehicle is in a running state. The control device reverses the display portion in response to a result of the determination. The control device changes the display portion from one of the positive and negative modes to the other at a lower speed when the control device determines that the vehicle engine is in an initial starting step than when the control device determines that the vehicle is in a running state. When the control device determines that the vehicle engine is in an initial starting step, the control device changes the display portion in one of the positive and negative modes from a neutral contrast state.

  • Publication number: 20060203351
Abstract: In a head-up display apparatus for a vehicle, an aspherical surface of a reflection mirror compensates a distorted projected image caused by non-planarity of a windshield at a predetermined projection area thereon. When moving an eye point of a vehicle driver, an adjustment mechanism moves a stopper pushing the reflection mirror to adjust a reflecting angle so that the reflection mirror reflects light beams to the projection area and the projection area reflects the light beams toward the eye range. During the angle adjustment, an urging member and the stopper hold the reflection mirror.

  • Publication number: 20060176210
Abstract: The present invention is to provide a vehicle display apparatus having a clear view. When a vehicle runs on a flat road, a standard FOE (focus of expansion) is set so as that a horizon line is positioned at a central portion of a display area. When the vehicle approaches to an uphill road, the display area is moved to match ordinates of between a current FOE and the standard FOE. When the vehicle approaches to a downhill road, the display area is moved to match the ordinates of between the current FOE and standard FOE.

  • Publication number: 20060174814
Abstract: A speedometer for a vehicle includes a display part, formed into a circular shape and that includes a movable portion rotatable about a center thereof, the movable portion having an indication design, a pointer that rotates to indicate the indication design for displaying the running speed of the vehicle. During a normal driving, the pointer rotates to indicate a position on the indication design of the movable portion that corresponds to a current running speed of the vehicle while the movable portion is fixed. During a driving with an adaptive cruse control system, the movable portion rotates so that the pointer indicates a position on the indication design of the movable portion that corresponds to the current running speed of the vehicle while the pointer is fixed.

  • Publication number: 20060077068
Abstract: When a polarization axis of a first polarizing plate is parallel to that of a second polarizing plate, a light emitted from a backlight is transmitted, on the other hand, when a polarization axis of the first polarizing plate is orthogonal with that of the second polarizing plate, a light emitted from the backlight is mostly blocked off. A character and scale are constructed by a ½? phase difference plate, so that the emitted light from the backlight, which enters to the character and scale, has a deflection direction reverse to that of the first polarizing plate. When the light emitted from the backlight is blocked, differently from a conventional artificial (pseudo) black color, a color extremely close to black color is seen. The contrast ratio and visibility are improved.

  • Publication number: 20060028733
Abstract: A plate-shaped display device is partitioned into a meter display area and a HUD display area. Images displayed on the display device are visible on both front and rear surfaces of the display device. A direct image displayed on the meter display area is projected toward an eye range of a vehicle driver. A reflected image displayed on the HUD display area is firstly projected in a direction opposite to the eye range. Then, the reflected image is reflected at a magnifying mirror and a windshield, then finally projected toward the eye range.

  • Publication number: 20060022896
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a head-up display apparatus and a cover-mirror unit used for the same. A movable member 3? of the cover-mirror unit stands up along a flat inner wall 1a1 of a housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is in use, and lie down to cover an opening of the housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is not in use for carrying out an up/down operation. In particular, through the down operation, by a link mechanism, a bottom end of the movable member is gradually moved upward by following the inner wall 1a1 of the housing 1a. Therefore, though the movable member 3? stands up along the inner wall 1a1 of the housing 1a when the head-up display apparatus is in use, the movable member 3? never interferes with the inner wall 1a1 through the up/down operation.

  • Publication number: 20060018109
Abstract: A display apparatus for a vehicle includes a display device on which a state of the vehicle is displayed using a desired design pattern; and a transparent auxiliary member interposed between the display device and a vehicle driver. The transparent auxiliary member has an auxiliary design pattern corresponding to a vehicle type to form a part of the desired design pattern by superposing thereon, and allows the vehicle driver to see superposed design pattern displayed on the display device and the auxiliary design pattern. Transmitted light emitted from the display device illuminates the transparent auxiliary member.

  • Publication number: 20050259301
Abstract: Providing a head-up display apparatus capable of receiving a mirror, which projects from a line of an instrument panel when in use, without increasing a receiving section and spoiling a beauty of the instrument panel, and a mirror unit used in the same, a mirror is rotated about an axis perpendicular to a reflecting surface of the mirror so as to project a part of the mirror from the opening when in use, and take in the projected part of the mirror down within the opening when not in use. Thus, the whole mirror can be received in the receiving section only by rotational motion.

  • Patent number: 6943956
Abstract: The combiner 1 has a resin base 11 and a reflecting and polarizing member 12. The reflecting and polarizing member 12 is unitarily molded with the resin base 11 as an insert and has a polarizer plate 12A covered by a reflector film 12B. At a border B of the reflector member 12 with the resin base 11, a gradation printed layer 13a is provided. Preferably, the reflector film has an undercoat layer 12d, a reflecting coat layer 12e, an overcoat layer 12f, and a top coat layer 12g. The undercoat layer prevents the reflector film from being stripped out of the polarizer plate, and the reflector film has a predetermined reflectance. The reflecting coat layer is protected by the overcoat layer, and the top coat layer has a water repellency.

  • Patent number: 6930836
Abstract: A head-up display device having an excellent appearance, which has a simple structure and an excellent design upon both nonuse and use, is provided. A cover having a shape equivalent to that of an aperture formed on an upper surface of a housing is attached on an upper surface of a retractable reflector. The cover slides on the upper surface of the reflector cooperating with a retractable motion of the reflector, thereby performing the opening and closing action of the aperture. When the reflector takes its falling-down posture, the reflector and its rotation shaft can be shielded from an eye range and the number of the parting lines can be reduced.
