  • Publication number: 20040238564
Abstract: A plastic fitment with child-safe properties for attachment to a container component of film-like plastic material, includes a tubular body portion defining a through passage having axially spaced ends. A plurality of welding ribs is formed integrally on the outer periphery of the body portion near one axial end of the through passage. Furthermore, a cap member is integrally formed on the body portion near the other axial end, said cap member sealing the through passage at one end. The cap member is attached to the body portion through a weakened portion that is adapted to break when a rotational force is exerted by hand on the cap member. Radially outwardly projecting, wing-like blades are formed on the cap member at diametrically opposite positions thereof so that a person can place his fingers thereon in order to apply the rotational force to the cap member.

  • Publication number: 20040088536
Abstract: An apparatus for providing a trusted channel among secure operating systems (OSs) to which a mandatory access control (MAC) policy is applied includes on a data transmission side a trusted channel sub system, a MAC module and a kernel memory. The apparatus further includes on a data reception side a trusted channel system and a kernel memory. By using the apparatus, the contents of data can be prevented from being exposed even in case the packet is intercepted while being transmitted since the packet is encrypted. Furthermore, even though the contents of the data packet are replaced with malicious contents, such modulation of data can be detected by examining the integrity of the packet through the use of authentication data.

  • Publication number: 20030221038
Abstract: An interface device according to the present invention interfaces with a host by an m-bit unit. A flag signal generator circuit generates a mode flag signal indicating whether a data transfer mode of the interface device is a multi-transfer mode. A control circuit operates responsive to information indicating whether an address from the host is a data width aligned address and whether the address thus transmitted belongs to a data width aligned address range. The control circuit causes m-bit data from the host to be continuously stored in a first-in first-out memory. Data continuously stored in the memory is at once transmitted to a high-speed bus connected to the interface device.

  • Publication number: 20030200436
Abstract: Disclosed is an access control method using a token having security attributes in a computer system when a user gains access to a specific file. The computer system adopts a token having encryption, modification, execution, and provision attributes to determine access permission or access denial between a user and a file in such a way that a file access request is controlled. The access control method enciphers a file and stores the enciphered file in a storage unit, so that it can maintain security of the file even though the storage unit is stolen. The access control method enables a system manager to read only enciphered contents of the file when the system manager performs a data backup operation, thereby eliminating limitations in commonly operating a system simultaneously with maintaining file security.

  • Publication number: 20030126434
Abstract: A file security system uses a security class set by an access control module. The file security system includes a disk, a kernel memory and an encryption file system. The disk includes a key file in which an encryption key corresponding to the security class is stored and a file encoded by the encryption key. The encryption key stored in the disk is loaded into the kernel memory when the file security system starts operating. The encryption file system extracts an encryption key corresponding to a security class of a file that a user intends to read or store; decodes or encodes the file by using the extracted encryption key; and then provides the decoded file to the user or stores the encoded file in the disk.

  • Patent number: 3969930
Abstract: An apparatus and method for testing viscoelastic solids, such as tire cord. The apparatus includes: a holding means, a pretension means, a displacement generator, and a mechanical-electrical transforming means. The holding means holds the material in a predetermined position. The pretension means applies tension during testing. The displacement generator has an eccentric means for applying cyclic displacement. The mechanical-electrical transforming means transforms mechanical motion into electrical signals, such as a stress signal, a strain signal and a differentiated strain signal. There is a phase lag between the stress signal and the strain signal and the phase lag may vary in amount and direction as a function of time. The apparatus may also include: an integrating means for integration of a stress-strain hysteresis loop; and a display means for displaying an output of the integrating means to measure the area of the hysteresis loop and thereby determine energy loss.

  • Patent number: 3934452
Abstract: A method for determining strain amplitudes in each component, during cyclic straining of a 2-component structure in which at least one component shows non-linear viscoelastic behavior. The heat generation rates of each component are determined experimentally, at various temperatures, as functions of the experimentally imposed strain amplitudes. These functions are used to solve, by computer, a heat balance equation involving temperature values through the structure. To find pairs of strain amplitudes which produce observed temperatures, the value of strain amplitude entering into the equations for one component is varied (for each value of a set of strain amplitudes of the other component) until the temperature at a selected point of the structure, thus calculated, matches the temperature determined experimentally; and likewise for a second selected point. The desired pair of strain amplitudes is thus identified as being a pair which produces a match of calculated vs.
