Abstract: There is disclosed, for use in distributed computer systems having multiple clients and multiple servers which are dynamically coupled and decoupled as needed, a system, method and software product for providing APIs for dynamically generating fast client-side proxies given any type of service interface specification/definition document, such as IDL, WSDL or JMX MBean descriptors, and the like. This new technique for the dynamic generation of static proxies for clients based on service definition allows for fast communication with distributed clients as well as dynamically allowing server interfaces to be updated without burdening clients for regeneration/assembly of distributed communication client stubs. The system is preferably implemented with a dynamic static-proxy invocation gateway and a plurality of novel dynamic static-proxy invocation generators, one being associated with each specific service available for use on the servers.

Abstract: Externally referenced interfaces of a program are statically detected. The static detection of the externally referenced interfaces is performed prior to runtime and without the source code of the program. Input to the static detection is the compiled output of the program, and the output is a list of the externally referenced interfaces of the program.

Abstract: A hypertext browser for retrieving data from a selected one of a plurality of databases. One of the databases may comprise an Interface Repository, while others may store Naming contexts or Java classes. Each of a plurality of browser components is operable to retrieve data from a corresponding one of the databases. Upon receiving a hypertext request from a requester specifying data contained in one of the databases, a main browser servlet residing on a server machine directs the request to the browser component corresponding to that database to permit the browser component to retrieve the data specified in the request. The request may specify one of the browser components, in which case the main servlet directs the request to the browser component specified in the request. The main servlet generates common header and footer portions of a hypertext reply to the requester, while the browser component generates a browser-specific portion of the hypertext reply to the requester.
