    Abstract: A method includes energizing a transformer from a deenergized state by turning on a solid-state transfer switch to conductively couple a power source on a first side of the solid-state transfer switch and a transformer on a second side of the solid-state transfer switch, and evaluating an inrush current to the transformer from the power source. The method includes turning off the solid-state transfer switch to conductively decouple the power source and the transformer in response to the inrush current meeting a first criterion, determining a recoupling timing for the solid-state transfer switch, and turning on the solid-state transfer switch in response to the recoupling timing effective to complete energization of the transformer with the inrush current to the transformer being limited by the first criterion.

An active damper is coupled in series with the resonant capacitor and the output node and is controllable to provide a first resistance of the active damper in a first state and a second resistance of the active damper in a second state, the first resistance having a lower magnitude than the second resistance. A driver controls the damper switch to provide a first resistance during the soft switching operation of the power switch and a second resistance after the soft switching operation of the power switch.

The insulation layer is provided above the first conductive electrodes in the bonding area of the display panel, the insulation layer covers the first conductive electrodes, and the insulation layer is capable of being pierced by ACF particles. When the display panel is bound to an FPC by an ACF, second conductive electrodes on the FPC can be electrically coupled to the first conductive electrodes on the display panel through the ACF particles, thereby achieving the bonding connection between the display panel and the FPC, even if a conductive foreign object falls into the area where the first conductive electrodes are located, short circuit cannot be caused, thereby improving the product yield.

During operation, the system determines a normalized cost for an I/O request, wherein the normalized cost is independent of an access pattern and a type of the I/O request, wherein the normalized cost is indicated by a first number of virtual I/O operations consumed by the I/O request, and wherein a virtual I/O operation is used as a logical unit of cost associated with physical I/O operations. The system identifies a performance metric for the storage device by calculating a second number of virtual I/O operations per second which can be executed by the storage device. The system allocates incoming I/O requests to the storage device based on the performance metric, e.g., to satisfy a Quality of Service requirement, thereby causing an enhanced measurement of the performance of the storage device.

    Abstract: An apparatus and method that can accelerate the turn off time for a thyristor current interrupter. Following commutation of a load current from a main thyristor to an auxiliary turn-off unit, a capacitor of the auxiliary turn-off unit can provide a resonant current to create a zero current crossing for turning the main thyristor off, as well as provide a reverse bias voltage for the main thyristor. The auxiliary turn-off unit can hold the main thyristor off and facilitate sufficient time being available for main thyristor to block forward system voltage. A voltage level of another capacitor of the auxiliary turn-off unit can, with a switch of the auxiliary turn-off unit and the main thyristor turned off, be increased to a level that triggers at least one voltage-clamping unit to absorb electrical power from that capacitor.
