  • Publication number: 20070183134
Abstract: Systems for displaying images are provided. A representative system includes a backlight module incorporating a channel, a discharging gas, a fluorescent material, a cathode and an anode. The channel exhibits a series of waves arranged along a length thereof. The discharging gas and the fluorescent material are located within the channel. The cathode and the anode spaced from each other along the length of the channel. The series of waves form an increased effective length of the channel through which electrons travel between the cathode and the anode, and within which the electrons excite the discharging gas to generate ultra-violet light. Responsive to the ultra-violet light, the fluorescent material emits visible light.

  • Patent number: 7164586
Abstract: A plasma display. The plasma display comprises a first circuit board and a second circuit board disposed in a space formed by a base plate and a back cover thereof. The first circuit board is mounted on the base plate and bears a first electronic element, the second circuit board is mounted on the first circuit board and bears a second electronic element requiring heat dissipation different from the first electronic element. A thermal conductive device is disposed between the second electronic element and the back cover to dissipate heat from the second electronic element to the back cover. Thereby, the electronic elements requiring different heat dissipation are positioned in divided areas to enhance heat dissipation efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20060158075
Abstract: In a Plasma Display Panel (PDP) apparatus, system and method including a circuit framework structure, a chassis structure coupled to the circuit framework structure, at least one thermal pad structure coupled to the chassis structure, a panel structure coupled to the at least one thermal pad structure and including a display portion and a non-display portion, an integrated circuit disposed behind said non-display portion of said panel structure, and at least one attachment fastener structure, which couples the structures, deleterious heat that is generated during operation of associated ICs can be efficiently dissipated. Thermal equilibration of the PDP may also be obtained, thus increasing the operational life of the PDP.

  • Publication number: 20060158835
Abstract: A Plasma Display Panel (PDP) apparatus, system and method, includes a circuit framework structure, chassis structure, panel structure, TCP structure, at least one thermal pad structure and an insulating structure. An integrated circuit is coupled to at least one thermal pad structure and the TCP structure, and the circuit framework structure is disposed external to the TCP structure. Therefore, efficient dissipation of heat that is generated during operation of the PDP structures may be obtained. In addition, the amount of accumulated heat in the PDP structure may be significantly reduced due the PDP apparatus and structure configuration, thereby increasing the PDP operational life.

  • Publication number: 20050073253
Abstract: A plasma display device having a laminar attachment structure capable of increasing attachment of a heat-dissipating plate to a plasma display panel. Through a laminar attachment structure with a plurality of small pieces of thermal pad or adhesive double tape and a closed loop of thermal pad or adhesive double tape accommodating the plurality of small pieces as well as by means of vacuum pumping, the air within the closed loop is drawn out when the heat-dissipating plate is combined to the plasma display panel so as to reduce bubbles formed between the heat-dissipating plate and the plasma display panel and to increase tight attachment therebetween.
