  • Patent number: 6304168
Abstract: A door approach transmission apparatus comprises an outside door handle 20 having a conductor with a slit 23 disposed in the door handle surface. A slot antenna 21, 23, 24, 25 is disposed at the slit 23, and includes feeding points 24, 25 installed on the conductor. The apparatus also includes a transmitter 26 for applying voltage for radio wave oscillation to the feeding points 24, 25. The above-described door approach transmission and reception apparatus can be used in a door lock control apparatus where a search radio wave is emitted from a vehicle, a portable wireless device 10 receives the search radio wave, and returns an ID signal. An electrically driven door lock apparatus 40 is driven to unlock the door when the returned ID signal coincides with a registered ID signal. The search radio wave is irradiated from the slot antenna. Either of a transmitter 26 and a receiver 33 is selectively connected to the feeding points 24, 25.

  • Patent number: 6143262
Abstract: Nitrous oxide contained in a gas is directly decomposed by contacting the gas with a catalyst layer composed mainly of tin (IV) oxide at a reaction temperature of not less than 250.degree. C., preferably not less than 300.degree. C. Particularly when a cobalt (II) compound is added to the catalyst layer, nitrous oxide can be effectively removed to a low concentration by contacting the gas with the catalyst layer at the reaction temperature of not less than 200.degree. C., preferably not less than 300.degree. C. By the present process, nitrous oxide which has not conventionally effectively removed can be reliably removed at a low cost. The present process can be applied for the removal of nitrous oxide in exhaust gases discharged from a sludge-incinerating furnace, a boiler fine powder coal combustion furnace, etc.

  • Patent number: 5657232
Abstract: A relative speed of a vehicle with respect to a satellite is detected from a deviation of a tuning frequency caused by the Doppler effect, and a vehicle speed is determined from the relative speed. A piezoelectric oscillation gyro detects an angular speed of rotation of the vehicle, which is integrated to determine an azimuth. A travel is detected in terms of the vehicle speed and the azimuth, and the detected travel and information from available GPS satellites are substituted into a navigation equation to solve it for a solution. Alternatively, altitude information detected by an altitude sensor and the angular speed of rotation of the vehicle as detected by the piezoelectric oscillation gyro may be is inputted. The angular speed of rotation is integrated to determine the azimuth. Information from two GPS satellites and information representing azimuth .phi. and altitude .DELTA.z are substituted into the navigation equation to solve it for a solution. Kalman filter is employed.

  • Patent number: 5631838
Abstract: A length of time required for the verification of data transmitted from a satellite or satellites is reduced. A distance r1 calculated from a time delay required for the propagation of a radio wave between a transmitting and a receiving site is obtained, as is a line-of-sight distance r2 which is calculated from the positions of a satellite and a point of reception. When a difference between these two distances is small, data from these satellites are regarded as valid data. However, when the difference is large, data is regarded as involving a large error. The position of the point of reception is determined by a positioning calculation which utilizes data from predetermined three or four verified satellites, or is entered by an operator. The position of the satellite is obtained from orbital data which is delivered by that satellite.

  • Patent number: 5003319
Abstract: A microstrip antenna device for circularly polarized waves includes a dielectric sheet member, one surface of which has a radiating conductor sheet member while the opposite surface has a ground conductor sheet member. Denoting a point where a segment of a line passing through a geometrical center o, o of the radiating conductor sheet member intersects with the substantial periphery of the radiating conductor sheet member by a and denoting a point where the segment intersects with the substantial periphery of the ground conductor sheet member by b, the ratio of the length between the points o and b to the length between the points o and a should be at least equal to 1.5. Where rectangular radiating and ground conductor sheet members are used, a good circular polarization is achieved without any disturbance in the radiating pattern when the diagonal ratio of the respective members is equal to or greater than 1.5.
