  • Publication number: 20070009037
Abstract: In a moving picture decoding apparatus, a variable-length decoding circuit decodes motion vectors for each macroblock from a bit stream and stores the motion vectors. An error correction circuit calculates a reference vector for an error macroblock using the motion vectors to generate a corrected picture from a reference picture. An inverse-orthogonal transform circuit stores a difference value between direct-current (DC) components after Inverse Discrete Cosine Transform (IDCT) is performed thereon, in the memory for each macroblock. The error correction circuit further calculates a difference value of the DC component of the error macroblock using the difference values of DC components stored in the memory, to add the difference value calculated to the corrected picture generated from the reference picture.

  • Publication number: 20060285487
Abstract: The network failure detection apparatus is realized as a function of a terminal in a network. The network failure detection apparatus acquires packet reception statistic information on a port-by-port basis of a relay unit, and extracts a port having a large amount of packet reception per unit time. When there is one port having a large reception amount in a certain relay unit, the network failure detection apparatus decides that the L2 (layer 2) loop is occurred in the downstream direction of the port concerned. Also, when there are two ports having a large reception amount in a certain relay unit, the network failure detection apparatus decides that a loop is formed at the relevant two ports, in which the L2 loop is occurred.

  • Publication number: 20060280118
Abstract: Disclosed is a communication control method for recovering communication failures caused by a packet loop that occurs as a result of L2-level misconnection at relay switches in a communication system where data transmission/reception is carried out between a plurality of end hosts connected to the relay switches within a subnet. The method includes the steps of consecutively sending packets each having, as its originator address, a MAC address other than an originator MAC address of an end host desired to be communicated making up the subnet; thereby stopping the packet loop; and then sending packet data using, as a destination MAC address, a MAC address of a destination end host.

  • Patent number: 7042882
Abstract: A layer-structured MPLS path is set up in a short time by using a minimum number of control messages. A relay apparatus acting as the start point of the highest-layer L2 path creates a label request message specifying the intermediate-point and end-point relay apparatuses for all the paths of all the layers, and transmits it to the end-point relay apparatus of the L2 path. At a relay apparatus permitted to use an already established L1 path, instead of requesting a label of the L1 path, the label of the already established path is inserted in the label request message. In response to the label request message, a label mapping message is transmitted and transferred to the start-point relay apparatus. With this message, each node determines the labels associated with it and transfers them to its adjacent relay apparatus.

  • Publication number: 20050286432
Abstract: In a relay device or the like in which a speed changes from a high speed to a low speed, a packet residence (packet transfer wait) occurs when a packet string in which packet intervals are shortened arrives. When a packet discard occurs before passing through the relay device or the like, a packet interval having been lengthened by the packet discard is shortened by the relay device or the like for transferring packets. When a packet discard occurs after passing through the relay device or the like, a packet interval having been lengthened by the packet discard remains unshortened for transferring packets. Therefore, by observing at terminals the packet discard and the packet interval on the occasion of the packet discard, whether the packet discard has occurred in the high speed section or the low speed section is specified.

  • Patent number: 6973504
Abstract: A method and a system using the method enabling to decrease required resource for the bandwidth reservation in an inter-site connection network used for communication between communication sites. The aggregation of bandwidth is considered for allocating bandwidth in the inter-site connection network. The network consists of a plurality of nodes each having a packet switch, and a plurality of user sites each constituted by a host or an internal network respectively connected to the plurality of nodes via access lines. With respect to the plurality of user sites, when one user site is to be connected to the other site through the network, a necessary and sufficient bandwidth for interconnecting between the user site and the other is calculated according to the bandwidth of the access line connecting the user site to the network considered as a minimal bandwidth. Based on the calculated result, the bandwidth is allocated to the plurality of nodes.

  • Publication number: 20050209769
Abstract: A traffic management system manages, distributes, and controls various traveling states of vehicles at a high quality level. A vehicle-mounted unit performs an interconnection process for user authentication when entering a predetermined radio-wave zone. A radio unit disposed on a road sends interconnection process completion information to a center device when the interconnection process for connection to the vehicle is completed. If the vehicle does not connect to the radio unit after elapsed of a predicted time at which the vehicle is expected to travel across the radio unit, then the radio unit sends an overtime to the center device. The interconnection process completion information is received, the center device calculates a predicted time at which the vehicle is expected to pass across a radio unit, and sends the predicted time to the radio unit. When the overtime is received, the center device determines whether a fault has occurred or not.
