  • Patent number: 6879938
Abstract: A tire burst predicting device which can predict occurrence of bursting of a tire and gives an alarm properly is provided. A break point frequency is estimated on the basis of time series data of wheel speed detected at a wheel speed sensor from frequency response of a first order model to which a transmission characteristic from a road surface disturbance to a wheel speed is approximated. A braking force gradient corresponding to the estimated break point frequency is estimated, on the basis of a map, which is prestored, representing a relationship between break point frequencies and braking force gradients. Extra high frequency components are eliminated from the estimated braking force gradient by a low pass filter to reduce estimation dispersion. Differentiators detect changing speed of the braking force gradient. An alarm is given when there is a possibility of bursting of tire when the detected changing speed reaches or exceeds a predetermined threshold value.

  • Publication number: 20040243293
Abstract: A straight running state is accurately determined using only wheel speed data in any running state. Based upon right and left wheel speed values calculated by a wheel speed calculating mechanism (13) from detection values of right and left wheel speed sensors (11, 12), a wheel speed ratio calculating mechanism (21), a distance calculating mechanism (31), and a distance ratio calculating mechanism (32) respectively calculate a right and left wheel speed ratio, an actual running distance, a linear distance, and a distance ratio of the two distances at every preset checkpoint (CP). A wheel speed ratio change amount evaluating mechanism (24) extracts CPs at times where a change amount of the wheel speed ratio is relatively small as effective CPs, and a determining mechanism (43) determines an effective CP with the smallest distance ratio from among the effective CPs as in a straight running state.

  • Patent number: 6826302
Abstract: In image signal processing, the color saturation values of image signals are accumulated within each of a plurality of color saturation calculation regions by a color saturation accumulator circuit 13, and the image signals obtained in a color saturation calculation region in which the result of the color saturation value accumulation thus performed by the color saturation accumulator circuit 13 is low are accumulated for each of image signal types C1 to C4 by an image signal accumulator circuit 14. Based on the results of this accumulation performed for each of the image signal types C1 to C4, constants with which to counterbalance the amounts of light transmitted for the image signals C1 to C4 are determined and fed to a transmitted light amount corrector circuit 1.

  • Patent number: 6791599
Abstract: An infrared ray receiving module receives an infrared signal (transmitted by an image display device) generated on the basis of a signal representing switching between right and left eye images. An input signal type automatic judging unit and a field frequency detecting and L/R distinguishing unit acquire data relating to shutter timing of a left eye liquid crystal and a right eye liquid crystal in liquid crystal shutter glasses from the received infrared signal. An operation field frequency determining unit generates decision data relating to shutter timing to be fed to the liquid crystal shutter glasses on the basis of predetermined conditions from the data relating to shutter timing newly obtained in succession, and holds the generated decision data. A liquid crystal driving pulse generating unit can cause the liquid crystal shutter glasses to perform a shutter operation using the held decision data when no decision data is generated because the predetermined conditions are not satisfied.

  • Patent number: 6789038
Abstract: An apparatus and method to estimate the condition amount of a vehicle tire in a vehicle equipped with vehicle wheels formed with air enclosed under pressure in an inside portion of a tire mounted to a disc wheel. A plurality of wheel speed sensors detect the vehicle speed of each vehicle wheel. An estimating unit obtains a reflected value reflecting the tire condition amount of a vehicle wheel based on the vehicle wheel speed, and estimates the tire condition based upon the reflected value. The estimating unit estimates a reflected value for a first vehicle wheel which is difficult to accurately obtain the reflected value based on the vehicle wheel speed by obtaining the reflected value for a second vehicle wheel which is easier to accurately obtain the reflected value based on the wheel speed.

  • Patent number: 6784917
Abstract: A digital broadcasting system is obtained having simple facilities and circuit structure and capable of efficiently transmitting and receiving synchronized pictures and displaying them without applying a synchronizing process thereto. According to the digital broadcasting system, picture signals respectively for the light eye and the left eye obtained from two synchronously operated cameras (13a, 13b) are converted to a noninterlace frame signal (picture data) by a frame memory unit (20) of the transmitting end. The picture data is compressed and modulated, and then transmitted to a communication satellite (8) over a transmission line of one channel. A transmission signal supplied from the communication satellite (8) is demodulated and decoded, and then converted to picture signals for the right and left eyes by a frame memory unit (21) of the receiving end, and the converted signals are displayed on a stereoscopic display monitor (12) in a stereoscopic manner.

  • Publication number: 20040155847
Abstract: A hold-type display apparatus is more likely to suffer the deterioration in the visibility of moving images due to the blur effect, compared to an impulse-type display apparatus. A single frame period is divided into a first period and a second period. Pixel data to be written to a pixel are written in a concentrated manner in the first period during a frame period. At this time, a write value for the pixel is set to twice a value of the image data in order not to lower the brightness of the images as a whole. However, only if the doubled value exceeds a range that can be displayed, the remaining pixel data are written in the second period. Thus, the change in display brightness approximates the impulse-type display apparatus, so that the visibility of moving images is improved.

  • Patent number: 6729841
Abstract: A turbine pump includes a casing having an inlet, an outlet and front and rear arc-shaped pump passages and an impeller. The impeller has plural impeller partitions respectively disposed between every two of the blades thereby forming impeller grooves at front and rear sides of the partitions and an outer ring at the peripheral edge of the blades. Each impeller groove, each of pump passage and the outer ring form a space for circulating fuel. The outside diameter of the impeller is smaller than the pump passages so that the impeller does not contact the pump passages.

  • Patent number: 6717623
Abstract: In a color separator circuit, edge detection filters detect an edge encountered in the horizontal direction. When the image signals corresponding to the thus detected edge are processed, selector circuits 12a to 12c select outputs from small-tap-number color separation filters 8a to 8c and 10a to 10c, respectively. When the image signals corresponding to the remaining portion other than the edge are processed, the selector circuits 12a to 12c select outputs from large-tap-number color separation filters 9a to 9c and 11a to 11c, respectively. A ratio calculator circuit 16 calculates, from the luminance signals fed from adder circuits 13a to 13c, the value by which a multiplier circuit 18 performs multiplication. The multiplier circuit 18 multiplies, by this value calculated by the ratio calculator circuit 16, the color separation signals added together by an adder circuit 17 so that, of all the color separation signals of which there are two kinds, those of one kind are vertically interpolated.
