Publication number: 20090236705Abstract: An apparatus and method for a two semiconductor device package where the semiconductor devices are connected in electrical series. The first device is mounted P-side down on an electrically conductive substrate. Non-active area on the P side is isolated from the electrically conductive substrate. The second device is mounted P-side up at a spaced apart location on the substrate. Opposite sides of each are electrically connected to leads to complete the series connection of the two devices. A method of manufacturing such a package includes providing an electrically conductive lead frame, mounting one device P-side up and flipping the other device and mounting it P-side down on the lead frame with non-active area of the P side isolated from the lead frame, and connecting the other side of each device to separate leads. Isolation of the non-active area of the P side of the device can be through modification of the substrate or lead frame surface by grooves or raised portions.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2008Publication date: September 24, 2009Applicant: VISHAY GENERAL SEMICONDUCTOR, INC.Inventors: TA-TE CHOU, HUI-YING DING, YUN ZHANG, HONG-YUN HE, LI-ZHU HAO

Publication number: 20090034612Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for implementing quantization in encoding/decoding. Firstly, the quantization on the picture transformed coefficient matrix is performed using a quantization parameter model, that is, the coefficient matrix is modeled as a parameter model represented by only several parameters, in which the parameter model includes two sorts of parameters, frequency band distribution parameters and frequency band weighting parameters. Thus, a quantization matrix conforming to the human vision system can be obtained by controlling the model parameters and the subjective quality of the encoded picture can be easily controlled. Secondly, the method does not need to store or transfer the quantization matrix in the bitstream which help to improve the encoding efficiency. Finally, the quantization on picture transformed coefficients using the method is well adapted to the content information of the picture to be encoded.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 15, 2008Publication date: February 5, 2009Applicants: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD., TSINGHUA UNIVERSITYInventors: Jianhua ZHENG, Jianwen CHEN, Yun HE, Xinjian MENG

Publication number: 20090022222Abstract: A method of obtaining a disparity vector and its encoding/decoding in the multi-view coding process is disclosed. The present invention includes essentially: determining a disparity vector between two views during the multi-view image coding, and computing a disparity vector between the other two views according to the disparity vector between the two views and the known relative location information between each of the views. Thereafter, the disparity vector is used for multi-view encoding/decoding. The present invention further makes use of the correlation between the disparity vector and depth information of the spatial vector on one hand, and on the other hand makes use of the direct relationship between the disparity vector and the location of each of the cameras. It is experimentally proved that the disparity vector between several views can be accurately computed during the multi-view coding, thereby improving the performance of multi-view coding.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 26, 2008Publication date: January 22, 2009Applicant: HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD.Inventors: Yun HE, Xiaozhong XU, Gang ZHU, Ping YANG, Jianhua ZHENG, Shujuan SHI, Xiaozhen ZHENG, Xinjian MENG
