  • Patent number: 8625917
Abstract: A method and apparatus for realizing adaptive quantization in the process of image/video coding, which includes the following steps: acquiring the parameter information of the neighbor blocks of the current block; determining the quantization mode of the current block according to the parameter information of the neighbor blocks; and performing quantization processing on transform coefficients of the current block by using the determined quantization mode. Wherein, block coding type and motion vector of the neighbor blocks are used as the parameter information for determining the quantization mode of the current block. An apparatus for adaptive quantization in process of image/video coding is provided. The invention can use different quantization mode for adaptive quantization in different image content of an image sequence, thereby improving the subjective quality of the compressed images at the same bit rate.

  • Patent number: 8594193
Abstract: A method of obtaining a disparity vector and its encoding/decoding in the multi-view coding process is disclosed. The present invention includes essentially: determining a disparity vector between two views during the multi-view image coding, and computing a disparity vector between the other two views according to the disparity vector between the two views and the known relative location information between each of the views. Thereafter, the disparity vector is used for multi-view encoding/decoding. The present invention further makes use of the correlation between the disparity vector and depth information of the spatial vector on one hand, and on the other hand makes use of the direct relationship between the disparity vector and the location of each of the cameras. It is experimentally proved that the disparity vector between several views can be accurately computed during the multi-view coding, thereby improving the performance of multi-view coding.

  • Publication number: 20130301707
Abstract: An encoding method with multiple image block division manners is disclosed, including: determining a division manner and a division direction of an image block; dividing the image block to obtain image subblocks sequentially arranged horizontally or vertically; determining whether the image subblocks need subdivision, and if subdivision is not needed, predicting the encoding object in the frame according to the image subblocks, to obtain residual data; performing transformation, quantization, and entropy encoding for the residual data so as to obtain coded residual data; and writing the division manner of the image block, the division direction of the image block, an identifier indicating whether the image subblocks need subdivision, and the coded residual data into a bitstream. By applying the encoding method, better prediction accuracy can be achieved when the image block presents a small change of pixel value in the horizontal or vertical direction.

  • Patent number: 8428396
Abstract: An image interpolation method includes: obtaining pixel values of integer pixel points and/or sub-pixel points in the row, column or any other directions of pixel points; obtaining pre-calculated interpolation coefficients, and interpolating the pixel points. A method for obtaining image interpolation coefficients includes: solving a one-dimensional Wiener-Hopf equation to obtain needed interpolation coefficients in different directions. An image interpolation apparatus performs interpolation filter processing on pixel points by using a first obtaining module, a second obtaining module, and a first calculating module. With the image interpolation method and apparatus, and the method for obtaining interpolation coefficients, the interpolation filter accuracy of the pixel points may be improved, the search accuracy of pixel points may be improved, and thus a more accurate matching block may be obtained in a reference image.
