    Abstract: A method includes optimizing a video quality of a video data stream received by a user in a video conference. A region of at least one frame of the video data stream may be sampled. The sampling rate may be variable based on the rate of change of objects in the video data stream. A video quality metric corresponding to the video quality of the video data stream may be calculated. The video quality of the video data stream may be adjusted based on the video quality metric. Another method includes retrieving a video and detecting one or more moving regions of interest (ROIs). Each of the ROIs is tagged with metadata configured to allow users to interact with the ROI, and the detected ROIs and their corresponding metadata are stored in a file. Based on the file, playback of the video and movement of the ROIs may be synchronized.

    Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing embedded hydrogel contact lenses involving a set of 3-mold halves consisting essentially of: one female lens mold half having a molding surface defining the anterior surface of a contact lens; one male lens mold half having a molding surface defining the posterior surface of the contact lens; and an insert mold half having a molding surface defining one of the front and back surfaces of an insert. One of the lens mold halves is used twice: first with the insert mold half for molding an insert during first curing process and then with the other lens mold half for molding an embedded hydrogel contact lens with the molded insert embedded partially or fully therein during second curing process. The invention also relates to embedded hydrogel contact lenses produced from a method of the invention.

    Abstract: The invention provides a contact lens manufacturing method for cast-molding of silicone hydrogel contact lenses having enhanced oxygen permeability without adversely affecting desirable lens mechanical properties (e.g., modulus). A method of the invention comprises adding a small amount of a radical scavenger (e.g., H-TEMPO) in a polymerizable composition for cast-molding of SiHy contact lenses) to provide the resultant polymerizable composition with a bi-phase curing profile at a curing temperature of from about 45° C. to about 100° C. With such a bi-phase curing profile, the resultant polymerizable composition can be thermally cured at the curing temperature to form a SiHy contact lens having an oxygen permeability higher than that for a polymerizable composition having the substantially identical composition excepting being free of any radical scavenger.
