Abstract: A method includes determining a transmission power level configuration of time slots of a shared channel using communications occurring within a first communications group and at a first transmission power level, and communicating with a second device in a time slot in accordance with the transmission power level configuration, wherein communications occurring during the time slot is at a second transmission power level, wherein the second transmission power level is lower than the first transmission power level.

Abstract: A method for communicating in a wireless system includes receiving a trigger frame including a paging bitmap, and resource allocation information indicating a location of a resource pool for transmitting a packet, and determining if the station is permitted to transmit the packet in accordance with the paging bitmap. If the station is permitted to transmit the packet, the method also includes determining a location of a network resource in the resource pool in accordance with an identifier of the station, and transmitting the packet at the location of the network resource.

When a third frame is received after a pre-specified short interval after transmitting the first frame, the third frame acknowledging the first frame, the method includes transmitting the second frame after the pre-specified short interval after receiving the third frame, and transmitting the data during the first time period.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for indicating response frame types according to response frame durations in a wireless network. The embodiments include defining a plurality of response frame types in accordance to different transmission durations. The different response frame types are assigned corresponding indication values. When transmitting a current frame to a receiver entity, a transmitter entity selects a response frame type from the defined response frame types, and indicates in the current frame the selected response frame type using the assigned indication value. When a third entity receives the current frame, the third entity waits for a time period about equal to a predefined inter-frame and backoff time before transmitting a new frame. Upon determining that the indication value in the current frame is for sending a response frame, the third entity also waits an additional time period about equal to the transmission duration of the indicated response frame type.

Abstract: A wireless communications system includes an access point (AP) and multiple stations. The AP transmits a reference indicator indicating a target receive power reference of the AP and an adjustment indicator indicating an adjustment to the target receive power reference for a station. When the station receives the reference indicator and the adjustment indicator, the stations determines a transmission power level in accordance with the target receive power reference and the adjustment to the target receive power reference. The stations transmits a packet at the transmission power level to the AP. Reduction in signaling overhead is achieved.

Abstract: A paging method is disclosed. In an embodiment a method for paging monitoring implemented by a user equipment (UE) includes hashing an identity of the UE to determine a paging frame in which a page is to be sent to the UE and to determine a position of an indicator in a bitmap to be sent to the UE, wherein a value of the indicator indicates whether a page message associated with a paging group to which the UE belongs is transmitted in a current paging cycle, selecting a first downlink beamformed beam from a plurality of beams within the determined paging frame, receiving the bitmap from the first downlink beam and determining that the value of the indicator indicates that the page message is transmitted in the current paging cycle and, based thereon, receiving and decoding the page message to determine whether the UE is being paged.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for implementing efficient uplink (UL) orthogonal frequency division-multiple access (OFDMA) transmission in wireless systems, such as in WiFi networks. An embodiment method includes sending, by an access point (AP) to a plurality of stations (STAs), scheduling information for periodic UL transmission, and sending, to the STAs, a short synchronous signal (SSS) in accordance with the scheduling information for periodic UL transmission. The method further includes receiving, from the STAs, a corresponding UL transmission in response to receiving the SSS. The UL transmission is sent by each of the plurality of the STAs at about a same time. The STAs wait for a time short interframe space (SIFS) after receiving the SSS, before sending, to the AP, the UL transmission.

Abstract: A method is disclosed for improving the durability of membrane electrode assemblies in solid polymer electrolyte fuel cells by reducing the amount of halogen ion contaminants present. Silver carbonate is dissolved in an ionomer dispersion and incorporated into an appropriate component in the fuel cell where it reacts with halogen ion present to form silver halides. The component is then exposed to a suitable light source that decomposes the halide into halogen gas which is then removed prior to final assembly of the fuel cell.

Abstract: A method for prioritizing first group devices over second group devices in accessing a channel during a time slot scheduled for communications by the first group devices is provided. In an embodiment, a method in a wireless network component for packet relaying includes transmitting a first data packet comprising data to a relay station, wherein the first data packet comprises an identification (ID) of the target wireless device wherein the data packet is intended for a target wireless device, wherein the relay station is configured to forward the data in the first data packet to the target wireless device without sending an acknowledgement back to the wireless network component; receiving a second data packet transmitted by the relay station; and determining whether a receiver ID of the second data packet corresponds to the target wireless device, wherein the wireless network component considers the transmission successful if the receiver ID of the second data packet corresponds to the target wireless device.

Abstract: A method for operating a wake-up radio (WUR) receiver of a receiving device includes receiving, from a transmitting device, information conveying a first mode of operation and a second mode of operation, wherein the first mode of operation is used for operating the WUR receiver of the receiving device when the transmitting device does not transmit any WUR beacons and the second mode of operation is used for operating the WUR receiver of the receiving device when the transmitting device transmits WUR beacons periodically, and determining, by the receiving device, that the transmitting device does not transmit any WUR beacons, and based thereon, operating, by the receiving device, the WUR receiver of the receiving device in accordance with the first mode of operation.
