Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge has a cartridge casing, a single reel around which a magnetic tape is wound and which is contained in the cartridge casing for rotation and a leader pin fixed to the leading end portion of the magnetic tape. The leader pin is provided at its opposite ends with engagement portions which are brought into engagement with a tape drawing mechanism of a recording and reproducing system when the magnetic tape cartridge is loaded in the recording and reproducing system. The end face of each engagement portion is provided with a recess at which the tape drawing mechanism chucks the leader pin.

Abstract: In a recording tape cartridge, a reel has a reel hub around which a magnetic tape is wound. An annular reel gear is formed at an outer surface of a bottom portion of the reel hub. Rotation of the reel is impeded by a braking member engaging with an engaging gear formed at an inner surface of the bottom portion. When a clutch member is pressed by a rotating shaft of a drive device, the clutch member is guided by rotation restricting ribs which are engaged with rotation restricting grooves such that relative rotation is impossible, and the clutch member moves in an axial direction of the reel and cancels engagement of the braking member with the engaging gear. A press operation surface and the rotation restricting grooves are positioned further toward a radial direction inner side than the reel gear.

Abstract: A single reel with magnetic tape wound thereon is housed in a case. A restraining member, for restricting rotation of the reel by moving toward or away from the reel, is urged in a restraining direction by an urging member. The pushing-up portions of a releasing member are inserted into the through holes bored in the reel gear of the reel 2 so that the lower ends can abut a driving gear. The releasing member moves the restraining member in a releasing direction by moving according to the chucking operation of drive-side rotation drive means. In this manner, reel-rotation restraining means allows rotation of the reel when being used and restricts the rotation when not being used. In this construction, each of the through holes is bored between the tooth edges of the reel gear so that the releasing member can perform a reliable releasing operation.

Abstract: A recording tape cartridge has a reel accommodated within a case, an engaging portion provided at a floor portion of a reel hub; a braking member provided so as to be unable to rotate within the case, and approaching and moving away from the floor portion of the reel hub, and able to assume a rotation locked position at which the braking member engages with the engaging portion, and a rotation permitted position at which a state of engagement with the engaging portion is cancelled; and a releasing member disposed at an inner side of a guide wall portion provided at the floor portion of the reel hub, and when the reel is rotated, the releasing member holds the braking member at the rotation permitted position while abutting the braking member. The braking member has a tubular wall portion which overlaps with an outer side of the guide wall portion.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge is provided, in which the mating of the lower half and the upper half can be easily performed and which is applicable to automated assembly, when the magnetic tape cartridge having a sliding door is assembled. The rib projects from the upper section of the first guide wall in the direction of the opposite second guide wall. On the other hand, the groove, which faces the rib, is carved on the inner side surface of the sliding door. The rib engages with the groove, thereby restricting the vertical displacement of the sliding door. Also, the engagement of the rib and the groove guides the sliding door in the guide channel freely.

In an assembling of a magnetic tape cartridge, hold the door and coil spring with a component holding jig, grip a part of the door with a robot hand of an assembling apparatus, engage the other end of the coil spring in a spring engaging portion, elongate the coil spring with moving the spring engaging portion in a closing direction, make a state in which the coil spring can be attached to the case-side spring hooking portion as it is when fitting the door in a closing position of the guide groove, then fit in the door, and attach the other end of the coil spring to the case-side spring hooking portion, thereby being able to simultaneously build the door and coil spring in a lower half.

Abstract: A recording tape cartridge enabling proper assembly of a brake member which blocks rotation of a reel during non-use. A magnetic tape is wound on a reel accommodated in a case. The brake member is non-rotatably supported in the case and moves toward/away from a base portion inside a reel hub. Rotation of the reel is disabled when a brake gear provided at a disc portion meshes with gear teeth, and rotation is enabled when this meshing is released. Tapering walls stand along a circular periphery larger in diameter than an outer diameter of the brake member and coaxial with the hub. When the brake member is being inserted into the hub, the brake member is guided, at the disc portion and at a rim portion extending out from the disc portion, by the tapering walls to a position at which the brake gear meshes with the gear teeth.

A magnetic tape cartridge including: a reel around which a magnetic tape is wound; a cartridge case which houses the reel in a locked position; a release pad for releasing locking of the reel; and a cup-like hub of the reel in which the release pad is mounted, wherein a plurality of guide holes for allowing a plurality of lock release pins to penetrate therein, which extend from the lower surface of the release pad, are made in the periphery of a base plate of the cup-like hub, and a plurality of pairs of guide ribs, which are capable of guiding the plurality of lock release pins to the plurality of guide holes, stand inside the cup-like hub corresponding to the plurality of guide holes.
