Abstract: A recording tape cartridge has: a case rotatably accommodating a single reel with which one end portion of a recording tape is engaged and on which the recording tape is wound, the case having an opening which is formed at a corner portion of the case at a side of loading the case into a drive device, the opening being for pulling-out of a leader member attached to another end portion of the recording tape; and a projecting portion provided at an inner surface of the case in a vicinity of the opening. The projecting portion is provided substantially parallel to a direction of loading the case into the drive device.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge includes a cartridge casing and a single reel which is contained in the cartridge casing for rotation. A brake component including brake member is provided with a brake gear and is movable up and down between an operative position where the brake gear prevents rotation of the reel and a retracted position where the brake gear permits rotation of the reel. The brake member has an engagement surface which is conically inclined with respect to the axis of rotation of the reel.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a magnetic tape cartridge including a cartridge case. In the cartridge case, a single reel with magnetic tape wound thereon is rotatably housed, and a leader pin coupled with a leading end of the magnetic tape is caught by a pin catching member of a recording-reproducing unit and is inserted into a tape leader opening formed in the cartridge case. The magnetic tape cartridge also includes a pin retaining spring member which elastically engages the leader pin so that the leader pin is detachably retained at a predetermined position within the cartridge case. Furthermore, a wall surface is provided in the cartridge case so that when the leader pin is inserted into the cartridge case, displacement of the pin retaining member due to the engagement of the pin retaining member with the leader pin is regulated within a predetermined range.

At least one of a lower half portion and an upper half portion of the sidewall is provided with a holding groove 1L that receives a front end portion 6A of the slide door 6 when the opening is closed. Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge has a thin cartridge casing having flat upper and lower surfaces and a single reel around which a magnetic tape is wound. Projections are provided on at least three places of the lower surfaces of the cartridge casing near the leading edge and the trailing edge of the cartridge casing and recesses, which can engage with the projections, are provided on the upper surface of the cartridge casing so that, when a plurality of the magnetic tape cartridges are stacked, the projections and the recesses of the cartridge casings of magnetic tape cartridges are engaged with each other, whereby the magnetic tape cartridges are prevented from being displaced with respect to each other when they are stacked and the sliding resistance when the magnetic tape cartridge is inserted into a recording and reproducing apparatus is reduced.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a magnetic tape cartridge in which reliability has been enhanced by preventing a thin insertion-guide portion, provided in an opening for guiding a leader pin, from being deformed due to shock produced by dropping, etc. The magnetic tape cartridge has a cartridge case 4 in which a single reel with magnetic tape 6 wound thereon is rotatably housed. In an opening 10 through which a leader member 5 rigidly attached to the leading end of the magnetic tape 6 is pulled in and out, an insertion-guide portion 21 for guiding an end portion of the leader member 5 is formed by making the case wall surface thin, and a cutout is provided on at least one side of the insertion-guide portion 21 at a position of an edge of the opening 10.

The groove wall portion impedes rotation of the braking member, and guides the braking member.

Abstract: A magnetic tape cartridge includes a cartridge casing, a single reel which is housed in the cartridge casing for rotation and around which a magnetic tape is wound, the leader pin which is fixed to the leading end of the magnetic tape in order to draw out the magnetic tape from the cartridge casing, a lock member which is adapted to removably hold opposite ends of the leader pin inside an opening of the cartridge casing, and a sliding door for opening and closing the opening. A recess is formed on the inner surface of the sliding door at least at a part opposed to the front end of the lock member so that the front end of the lock member is prevented from interfering with the sliding door, whereby leader pin holding action by the lock member and opening and closing of the sliding door are stabilized and reliability of the magnetic tape cartridge is improved.

The reel-rotation restraining member has a restraining member, an urging member, and an unlocking member. Abstract: Disclosed herein is a magnetic tape cartridge comprising a single reel with magnetic tape wound thereon, a cartridge case for rotatably housing the single reel, a leader pin having a tape clamp portion on which the magnetic tape is wound, and a clamp member with a C cross section that has an axial slit. The leader pin is affixed to a leading end of the magnetic tape by elastically fitting the clamp member onto the tape clamp portion of the leader pin. A sheet member for enhancing a coefficient of friction is interposed at least between the magnetic tape and the tape clamp portion.

The reel-rotation restraining member has a restraining member, an urging member, and an unlocking member. The restraining member has a restraining gear which meshes with a locking tooth portion, and the restraining member is supported by a support portion of the cartridge case. In the magnetic tape cartridge, the following relationship is met: b≦(2×a×c)/d where “a” represents the length of engagement between the restraining member in an unlocked state and the support portion, “b” represents the clearance between the restraining member and the support portion, “c” represents the space between the tooth of the restraining gear and the locking tooth portion, and “d” represents the outside diameter of the restraining gear.

Abstract: A single reel with magnetic tape wound thereon is housed in a case. A restraining member, for restricting rotation of the reel by moving toward or away from the reel, is urged in a restraining direction by an urging member. The pushing-up portions of a releasing member are inserted into the through holes bored in the reel gear of the reel 2 so that the lower ends can abut a driving gear. The releasing member moves the restraining member in a releasing direction by moving according to the chucking operation of drive-side rotation drive means. In this manner, reel-rotation restraining means allows rotation of the reel when being used and restricts the rotation when not being used. In this construction, each of the through holes is bored between the tooth edges of the reel gear so that the releasing member can perform a reliable releasing operation.
