  • Patent number: 5707313
Abstract: A transmission ratio control apparatus for a friction-wheel CVT requires no feedback of the offset of a friction wheel and performs stable transmission ratio control. A control circuit is provided for controlling the offsetting of the friction wheel to change transmission ratio. A first unit of the control circuit determines a target input rotational speed based on the throttle valve opening and the vehicle speed. A second unit determines target transmission ratio corresponding to the target input rotational speed. A third unit determines an rotational angle instructional value for a motor to achieve the target input rotational speed. A fourth unit determines a changing rate of actual transmission ratio based on the input rotational speed and the vehicle speed. A fifth unit corrects the motor rotational angle instructional value to reduce changes in transmission ratio as the transmission ratio changing rate increases, and outputs the corrected instructional value to the motor.

  • Patent number: 5650165
Abstract: This invention provides a percutaneous absorption preparation for use in the percutaneous administration of drugs for percutaneous absorption into the living body for the purpose of preventing or treating various diseases, which has excellent adhesion to the skin and does not cause pain and damage to corneum when peeled off. Its pressure-sensitive adhesive layer contains an acrylic copolymer comprising a (meth)acrylic acid alkyl ester and a functional monomer as essential components, a fatty acid ester having a specified number of carbon atoms, a monoglyceride having a specified number of carbon atoms and a drug for percutaneous absorption, and the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is crosslinked. Since its skin adhesive property is improved by the inclusion of the monoglyceride, release of the drug from the preparation is improved and the area of the preparation can be miniaturized.

  • Patent number: 5555898
Abstract: A gastric access device having an external bolster and a tubular body. The tubular body has an integral bolster portion at one end and an integral dilator portion at an opposite end. An incision extending from an external body surface to an internal body cavity is formed and the gastric access device is inserted through the incision such that the bolster portion is in contact with an inner body surface surrounding the internal body cavity, the tubular body lies within and projects outwardly from the incision, and the dilator portion is on the outside or exterior of the body. The external bolster is slid or pushed down over the dilator portion and the projecting portion of the tubular body and into contact with the external surface of the body. The projecting portion of the tubular body is clamped and subsequently severed to disconnect the dilator portion from the tubular body.

  • Patent number: 5481507
Abstract: To produce a time-base signal for timekeeping, an oscillator circuit generates an oscillator clock signal, which is counted cyclically with a programmable cycle length to establish a time-base cycle. The time-base signal is set and reset once in each time-base cycle. The oscillator clock signal is also counted with a fixed cycle length to establish an adjustment cycle, which is longer than the time-base cycle. In each adjustment cycle, the length of one or more time-base cycles is altered by a total amount determined by adjustment data stored in a non-volatile memory, then the time-base cycle length is restored to its nominal value. The average frequency of the time-base signal can be adjusted by writing appropriate adjustment data in the non-volatile memory.

  • Patent number: 5475591
Abstract: Sensors (20, 21) provide a degree of throttle valve opening (TVO) and an output shaft revolution speed (No) to CPU (10), respectively. CPU (10) carries out a fuzzy inference for each gear position based on two kinds of parameters referring to a driving force deviation (Ef(i)) and a fuel consumption ratio (Qf(i)), and selects a speed change ratio which makes the appraisals for the driving force deviation and the fuel consumption ratio best, as a mark speed change ratio for the next gear position (NextGp), according to a predetermined program. Thus the shift control system selects a gear position corresponding to the speed change ratio by which the deviation between the driver's requiring driving force and the driving force after shifting becomes few, while the fuel consumption ratio becomes good.

  • Patent number: 5274541
Abstract: In a module using a high-speed switching element such as an IGBT for a high-speed inverter, a matching condition is established between the switching characteristic of the IGBT and the recovery characteristic of the diode to be connected thereto in an anti-parallel fashion. As a result, the oscillating voltage appearing in the inverter circuit is suppressed to prevent erroneous operation of the inverter system.

  • Patent number: 5247791
Abstract: In a closed type thermal power generation plant, the fuel is supplied in the combustor and burnt therein in the presence of oxygen, instead of air. The combustion gas mainly including water and carbon dioxide is delivered from the combustor into the turbine. A turbine exhaust gas is fed into the waste heat boiler to carry out heat exchanging operation therein and an exhaust gas mainly including water component and carbon dioxide from the waste heat boiler is fed into the condenser. The gas component mainly including the carbon dioxide is separated from the condensate in the water-gas separator and may be fed into the combustor in a compressed state, or the separated gas component may be recovered externally to the plant without emitting the same into the atmosphere. The separated condensate is fed into the waste heat boiler to be subjected to heat exchanging operation therein to generate superheated steam which is to be fed into the combustor, or may be recovered externally.

  • Patent number: 5243525
Abstract: A suspension control system for controlling a suspension having a shock absorber provided for each wheel of a vehicle includes a damping force change rate detector which detects a damping force change rate indicating a rate of change of a damping force of the shock absorber, and a damping force controller which alters the setting of the damping force on the basis of a relationship between the damping force change rate and an adjustment reference value. The system also includes a road surface condition detector which detects a condition of a road surface on which the vehicle is running on the basis of a change of the damping force of the shock absorber. Further, the system includes a damping force adjustment correcting unit which corrects the adjustment reference value by learning the adjustment reference value on the basis of a parameter related to the damping force of the shock absorber which reflects the condition of the road surface.

  • Patent number: 5240094
Abstract: A ratio control for a continuously variable transmission is disclosed. In this control, a speed sensor detects a wheel speed of a driving road wheel drivingly coupled with the continuously variable transmission, and the sensor output, namely a speed indicative signal indicative of the wheel speed detected, is used in conjunction with an engine load indicative signal in deriving a target value in a predetermined reduction ratio dependent variable, such as a turbine speed. Then, an actuator effects a shift in reduction ratio in such a direction as to bring an actual value in the predetermined reduction ratio dependent variable into agreement with the target value. During braking condition, the speed indicative signal may drop to zero or a small value owing to a wheel slip, resulting in a change in target value which causes a shift toward the maximum reduction ratio.

  • Patent number: 5213012
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of and a system for controlling a reduction ratio in a continuously variable transmission. An actuator for controlling the reduction ratio is controlled in response to an output signal. Normally, there is set as the output signal a sum of a feedback value of a deviation between a target value and an actual value of a turbine revolution, i.e., a revolution speed of an input shaft of the continuously variable transmission, and a feedforward value of the deviation. However, in the present arrangement, the feedback value is neglected and the feedforward value only is set as the output signal when there is a demand for a downshift with power.
