  • Publication number: 20050288652
Abstract: A PEG catheter is prevented from being infected. An infection preventive cover includes an elongated sheath having one opening end. The opening end is embroidered with a ligature at its circumferential section. A guide wired which is inserted through an abdominal wall into a stomach and which is then drawn out of an oral cavity is linked with a joint wire of a PEG catheter. Thereafter, the PEG catheter is covered with the infection preventive cover. The opening end of the sheath is tied up by the ligature. By pulling the guide wire on the abdomen wall side, the PEG catheter covered with the cover is delivered into the stomach. By pulling a cutting wire exposed through the abdomen wall, the ligature is cut off and the opening end of the cover is opened. Further in order to make it easy to close tightly and to loose an opening end, another infection preventive cover is provided.

  • Publication number: 20040234948
Abstract: Highly efficient gene transfer into primate-derived embryonic stem (ES) cells has successfully been achieved by using a simian immunodeficiency virus vector (SIV) pseudotyped with VSV-G protein, which is a surface glycoprotein of vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) The present invention provides simian immunodeficiency virus vectors for gene transfer to primate ES cells. The method for gene transfer to primate ES cells using the vectors of the present invention is useful in, for example, research into embryology and disease, clinical applications, and experimental models for primates. The method is also useful in assaying and screening for genes and reagents able to enhance the specific differentiation of tissues or cells, and which are useful in preparing desired cells or tissues differentiated from ES cells.

  • Patent number: 6761084
Abstract: A gate-type shift lever device in which a pin is formed at a mounting piece formed at a back wall portion of a base, which pin axially supports a plate switch. Two levers are formed at the plate switch. A shift lever abuts and presses one of the levers during a shift operation from a “D” position to a “4” position. The shift lever abuts and presses another of the levers, during a shift operation from a “2” position to an “L” position. In accordance with rotation of the plate switch due to the pressing forces received by the levers, a holder contact moves transversely. Thus, the shift operations from the “D” position to the “4” position and from the “2” position to the “L” position can be detected.

  • Patent number: 6756698
Abstract: When a key is rotated, it is moved in order of an ON position, an R position, an N position and a D position so that the range of an automatic transmission is switched. Moreover, when the key 13 is pressed in the ON position and the N position, it is moved to a START position so that power is applied to a starter. In this case, it is possible to carry out an operation for starting an engine and an operation for switching the range of the automatic transmission by manipulating the same key in a different direction. Therefore, the operation for starting an engine and the operation for switching the range of the automatic transmission can be carried out easily.

  • Publication number: 20030211903
Abstract: A golf ball having a predetermined radius, and a spherical outer surface with a multiplicity of dimples formed therein. A protrusion is formed in each of the dimples which are located in hit portions having a diameter of 5-15 mm, or alternatively, is formed in each of all the dimples. The protrusion has a distal end whose radial distance from the center of the golf ball is equal to the predetermined radius of the golf ball. The protrusion has a partition wall which divides a space in each dimple into a plurality of segmental spaces. The protrusion may have two partition walls which are perpendicular to each other and intersect at right angles for dividing a space in each of the dimples into four segmental spaces.

  • Patent number: 6629473
Abstract: The lever body 17 includes a recess (receiver) 66 defined by an upper plate 70 and the projections 65a, 65b, as shown in FIG. 7. A notch 67 is formed in the upper plate 70 (see FIG. 1). The notch 67 permits the first locking piece 61 to move from its retreating position to the operating position in the recess 66. The dimension of the notch 67 in the Y direction (the width of the notch 67) and the dimension of the notch 67 in the notch X direction (the depth of the notch 67) are both shorter than the corresponding dimensions of the recess 66. The upper plate 70 functions as a prohibiting member.
