Patent number: 4716789Abstract: In a vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission, the controller of the automatic drive system includes an operation signal generating circuit which outputs a signal that indicates the controller itself being in operation, and the controller of the automatic transmission includes a transmission control releasing circuit which releases the normal transmission control upon receipt of the signal from the operation signal generating circuit. The operation signal generating circuit outputs a signal which indicates that the automatic drive system is in operation, and due to releasing the regular transmission control of the automatic transmission, a shift down of the vehicle speed from the over-drive speed is performed only in such a condition in which the vehicle speed is decreasing in spite of the full opening of the throttle valve.Type: GrantFiled: June 15, 1984Date of Patent: January 5, 1988Assignee: Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.Inventor: Yutaka Suzuki

Patent number: 4566417Abstract: A fuel injection arrangement for a diesel engine. An overflow passage for high pressure fuel is provided in the engine's fuel injection pump. A solenoid valve is disposed in the overflow passage for controlling the fuel injection amount through its on-off operation. The time when the fuel injection pump starts injecting fuel is detected by an injection start detector. To this injection starting time point is added a target injection period to determine an injection end time. At this injection end time the solenoid valve is opened to discontinue the fuel injection. The target injection period is determined according to operating conditions of the engine. Since this apparatus detects the actual injection start point and controls the injection period on the basis of the result of the detection, the fuel injection amount can be controlled extremely accurately.Type: GrantFiled: April 10, 1984Date of Patent: January 28, 1986Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Yutaka Suzuki, Nobuhito Hobo, Yoshihiko Tsuzuki, Takashi Naito, Mikio Kumano, Tetsuya Nakamura, Satoshi Haseda, Akira Masuda

Patent number: 4529961Abstract: A wheel-mounted tire pressure sensor employs a Bourdon tube which deforms in relation to tire pressure to drive a pivotal arm. Opposite ends of the arm support magnets which can close reed switches arrayed around the path of travel of the magnets. The reed switches are connected to passive resonators in such a way that for each of a number of regions of travel of the arm, a unique combination of resonators is activated. The resonators are connected to a wheel-mounted antenna which faces a stationary antenna. Frequency signal matching the frequencies of the resonator are sequentially broadcast by the stationary antenna to the resonators, which are excited to oscillate if activated by the corresponding switch or switches. The excited resonator broadcast their frequencies back to the stationary antenna and to a display unit which decodes the combination of resonator frequencies to display the corresponding tire pressure.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 1983Date of Patent: July 16, 1985Assignee: Nissan Motor Company, LimitedInventors: Hiroaki Nishimura, Yutaka Suzuki

Patent number: 4503830Abstract: In a diesel engine controlling system having a fuel injection pump, a fuel injection timing adjusting device is controlled by a drive pulse signal whose duty cycle is controlled by a microcomputer. The duty cycle is determined such that a basic duty cycle obtained by using engine rotational speed and injection quantity, is modified or corrected by way of a correction factor and a forecast correction factor. The-first mentioned correction factor comprises an integration component and a proportional component both derived from the difference between a measured fuel injection or ignition timing and a desired or reference fuel injection or ignition timing, which is calculated by using the engine rotational speed and the injection quantity. The forecast correction factor corresponds to a differential value of the basic duty cycle or the desired fuel injection or ignition timing.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 1984Date of Patent: March 12, 1985Assignee: Nippondenso Co., Ltd.Inventors: Tetsuya Nakamura, Nobuhito Hobo, Yoshihiko Tsuzuki, Yutaka Suzuki, Satoshi Haseda, Akira Masuda
