  • Patent number: 7599669
Abstract: A transmitting arrangement includes a first signal input for supplying a frequency modulation signal, a second signal input for supplying an amplitude modulation signal, a phase-locked loop and an amplifying device. The latter is connected with a control connection to the second signal input. A signal input of the amplifying device is connected to the output of the phase-locked loop. A conversion device with a local-oscillator input is provided in a feedback path. The conversion device is constructed for splitting a signal, coupled out from an output of the amplifying device, into a first component and a second component with the aid of a local-oscillator signal. In this arrangement, the local-oscillator input is coupled to the output of the phase-locked loop.

  • Patent number: 7555272
Abstract: A transmission arrangement is provided for transmitting data continuously in the time domain. The arrangement includes at least one programmable amplifier in the baseband or in the radio frequency path in the signal processing chain for the signal which is to be transmitted. This programmable amplifier is distinguished in that the signal which actuates the programmable amplifier is a discrete-value signal. By dispensing with complex digital/analog converters, the principle described allows markedly reduced power consumption in transmitters which use code multiple access methods.

  • Patent number: 7412217
Abstract: A transceiver with interference signal rejection has a transmission path and a reception path. The transmission path is connected to a transmission amplifier whose output is coupled to an antenna. In addition, the antenna is also connected to the reception path. A compensating apparatus is provided which is coupled to an input of the reception path. The output of the transmission path and the input of the transmission amplifier also have an extraction element connected between them which is connected to an input of the compensating circuit. A signal component of a transmitted signal is extracted before amplification to an output level and is routed to the reception path via the compensating circuit such that this compensates for a crosstalk transmitted signal component.

  • Patent number: 7398074
Abstract: An integrated transceiver circuit has a reception path, which in turn has a mixer unit for demodulation of a received signal. An analog/digital converter unit is connected in the reception path downstream from the mixer unit. A first frequency divider is connected between the mixer unit and a voltage controlled oscillator in order to predetermine the demodulation frequency. A second frequency divider is connected between the oscillator and the analog/digital converter unit in order to predetermine the sampling frequency.

  • Patent number: 7305216
Abstract: A transmitting and receiving arrangement is disclosed having a transmission path, a reception path, and a control device for suppression of interference signals which are produced by crosstalk from the transmission path to the reception path. The control device inputs correction signals that are derived from the transmission signals into the reception path at a point therein such that the interference signals are suppressed downstream from the point. The control device has a detector that detects the interference signals on the basis of characteristics of the transmission signals.

  • Publication number: 20070197170
Abstract: A transceiver arrangement includes a first receive path with a first connection and a first receive amplifier, and a second receive path with a second connection, a second receive amplifier, and a frequency conversion device. A controllable coupling device is configured to couple an output of the first receive amplifier to an input of the frequency conversion device on the second signal path. Furthermore, the transceiver arrangement includes a control circuit configured to deliver a control signal to the coupling device for combining signals delivered by the first and second receive amplifier in the correct phase based on a signal supplied by the receive paths. This achieves receive diversity wherein, on the one hand, additional external components are no longer necessary and, on the other hand, adequate signal quality is ensured even with a simultaneous transmit process of the transceiver arrangement.

These amplifier stages are designed with a first gain factor and with a switching input. The amplifier circuit also has a third amplifier stage with a second gain factor, which is arranged between the signal input and the signal output. A control circuit is coupled to each amplifier stage for gain adjustment. The control circuit has a first control block designed for single-ended signal processing, and a second control block designed for push-pull signal processing. It is designed to supply control signals from the first control block to the amplifier stage when the gain of the first and at least one second amplifier stage is varied, and to supply control signals from the second control block to all of the amplifier stages when the gain of the at least one third amplifier stage is varied.

  • Patent number: 7161418
Abstract: An amplifier arrangement is disclosed that includes at least two series-connected, programmable amplifiers. The amplifiers each have a different amplifier step size. In addition, a calibration path is provided which feeds back the output of the second programmable amplifier to the programming inputs of the first and/or second programmable amplifier. The calibration path includes an analog/digital converter and an evaluation and control element. It is thus possible to calibrate away less-than-ideal characteristics, particularly in the case of changes in the gain from one amplifier block to another. The proposed amplifier arrangement and the method for calibration are particularly suitable for use in transmission and reception paths in transceivers which operate continuously over time.

  • Publication number: 20060264195
Abstract: A receiver, in particular for mobile radio, includes a receiver branch with a mixer, downstream of an analog/digital converter. A reference generator generates a reference clock, which is fed to the converters or PLL synthesizers of the mixer by integral multiplication or division. As a result, a particularly energy-saving and space-saving circuit configuration is realized, which has a low level of mutual interference between the signals and is suitable (in particular for Universal Mobile Telecommunication System, UMTS). In a preferred embodiment, the receiver is developed into a transceiver by providing a transmission path.

  • Patent number: 6987951
Abstract: A transceiver for use in universal mobile telecommunication systems is specified which exhibits an intermediate frequency in a range from 0 to 0.5 megahertz at the receiver end and an intermediate frequency of 190 megahertz at the transmitting end. The configuration described enables it to be operated with frequency duplex division (FDD), time duplex division and FDD variable duplex frequency. When a network operator is only provided with a narrow bandwidth, the configuration described can be operated in a particularly energy-saving manner due to the fact that only one local oscillator is needed for the first and second mixers. In this case, the transmit intermediate frequency of 190 megahertz can be adjusted by +/?5 or +/?10 megahertz. The configuration described can be highly integrated in a simple manner.
