  • Publication number: 20050266819
Abstract: A transmitting and receiving arrangement is disclosed having a transmission path, a reception path, and a control device for suppression of interference signals which are produced by crosstalk from the transmission path to the reception path. The control device inputs correction signals that are derived from the transmission signals into the reception path at a point therein such that the interference signals are suppressed downstream from the point. The control device has a detector that detects the interference signals on the basis of characteristics of the transmission signals.

  • Publication number: 20050258897
Abstract: An amplifier arrangement having a first amplifier stage and at least one second amplifier stage is provided, an input of the second amplifier stage being connected to the output of the first amplifier stage. The first amplifier stage and also the second amplifier stage are in each case designed for amplification with an adjustable discrete gain factor. Furthermore, provision is made of a feedback path connected between the output of the at least one second amplifier circuit and the input of the first amplifier stage. The feedback path is designed for generating and outputting a signal to the input of the first amplifier stage for the compensation of an offset signal at the output of the at least one second amplifier stage. Said offset signal is brought about by a setting of the gain factor of the first and/or the second amplifier stage.

  • Publication number: 20050245216
Abstract: A transceiver with interference signal rejection has a transmission path and a reception path. The transmission path is connected to a transmission amplifier whose output is coupled to an antenna. In addition, the antenna is also connected to the reception path. A compensating apparatus is provided which is coupled to an input of the reception path. The output of the transmission path and the input of the transmission amplifier also have an extraction element connected between them which is connected to an input of the compensating circuit. A signal component of a transmitted signal is extracted before amplification to an output level and is routed to the reception path via the compensating circuit such that this compensates for a crosstalk transmitted signal component.

  • Publication number: 20050239417
Abstract: A transceiver circuit includes a transmission path and also at least two reception paths, which in each case contain a frequency conversion device with a local oscillator input. A first, a second and a third oscillator circuit, and also a programmable frequency divider circuit are furthermore provided. The outputs of the oscillator circuits are connected to a respective input of the programmable frequency divider circuit. The frequency divider circuit contains three outputs connected in each case to a local oscillator input of the transmission path and the two transmission paths. According to one example of the invention, the frequency divider circuit is designed for frequency division of a signal present at an input and for outputting the frequency-divided signal to one of the three outputs.

  • Publication number: 20050168277
Abstract: An amplifier arrangement is disclosed that includes at least two series-connected, programmable amplifiers. The amplifiers each have a different amplifier step size. In addition, a calibration path is provided which feeds back the output of the second programmable amplifier to the programming inputs of the first and/or second programmable amplifier. The calibration path includes an analog/digital converter and an evaluation and control element. It is thus possible to calibrate away less-than-ideal characteristics, particularly in the case of changes in the gain from one amplifier block to another. The proposed amplifier arrangement and the method for calibration are particularly suitable for use in transmission and reception paths in transceivers which operate continuously over time.

  • Publication number: 20050032489
Abstract: A transmission arrangement is provided for transmitting data continuously in the time domain. The arrangement includes at least one programmable amplifier (7, 14) in the baseband (1) or in the radio frequency path (3) in the signal processing chain for the signal which is to be transmitted. This programmable amplifier is distinguished in that the signal which actuates the programmable amplifier (7, 14) is a discrete-value signal. By dispensing with complex digital/analog converters, the principle described allows markedly reduced power consumption in transmitters which use code multiple access methods.

  • Publication number: 20040229574
Abstract: An integrated transceiver circuit has a reception path, which in turn has a mixer unit for demodulation of a received signal. An analog/digital converter unit is connected in the reception path downstream from the mixer unit. A first frequency divider is connected between the mixer unit and a voltage controlled oscillator in order to predetermine the demodulation frequency. A second frequency divider is connected between the oscillator and the analog/digital converter unit in order to predetermine the sampling frequency.

  • Publication number: 20030104798
Abstract: A receiver, in particular for mobile radio, includes a receiver branch with a mixer, downstream of an analog/digital converter. A reference generator generates a reference clock, which is fed to the converters or PLL synthesizers of the mixer by integral multiplication or division. As a result, a particularly energy-saving and space-saving circuit configuration is realized, which has a low level of mutual interference between the signals and is suitable (in particular for Universal Mobile Telecommunication System, UMTS). In a preferred embodiment, the receiver is developed into a transceiver by providing a transmission path.

  • Publication number: 20020039889
Abstract: A transceiver for use in universal mobile telecommunication systems is specified which exhibits an intermediate frequency in a range from 0 to 0.5 megahertz at the receiver end and an intermediate frequency of 190 megahertz at the transmitting end. The configuration described enables it to be operated with frequency duplex division (FDD), time duplex division and FDD variable duplex frequency. When a network operator is only provided with a narrow bandwidth, the configuration described can be operated in a particularly energy-saving manner due to the fact that only one local oscillator is needed for the first and second mixers. In this case, the transmit intermediate frequency of 190 megahertz can be adjusted by +/−5 or +/−10 megahertz. The configuration described can be highly integrated in a simple manner.
