    Abstract: The present invention discloses a system and method to direct one or more objects to produce an output when objects are placed on or near an interactive surface. The system includes a plurality of objects, each embedded with a unique identification code (UID) and an output device; an interactive surface configured to recognize the UID and location information of an object placed on or near the interactive surface; a processor operatively linked to the interactive surface and configured to execute a computer program encoding user-defined rules regarding the objects. Once the plurality of objects are placed on or near the interactive surface, the processor is configured to generate an output instruction for a first object based on the user-defined rules and the UID and location information of the objects, and direct the output device of the first object to produce the output in accordance with the instruction.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an apparatus and method for eliminating blind spot of a high frequency RF antenna array, allowing an RFID tag to be detected when placed anywhere on top of and within the communication range of the RF antenna array. The RF antenna array includes a first array of RF antenna placed on a first surface and a second RF antenna placed on a second surface. The second RF antenna is located directly below or above the area encompassing borders of multiple antennas in the first array, but is not connected to any electrical path. Through the electromagnetic induction with the EM field generated by the first RF antenna array, a second EM field is formed by the second RF antenna, which enables detection and identification of the RFID tag placed on the blind spot of the first array of RF antenna. The present invention is useful in improving the RF communication range and accuracy of a passive RFID system.

    Abstract: A programmable test chip includes a target chip to be tested and addressing circuits fabricated on the same wafer. The addressing circuits can be placed in the scribe lines or a pre-allocated area of the wafer. When testing the target chip, a circuit connecting the target chip and the addressing circuits can be fabricated on demand. In some cases the target chip is not connected to the addressing circuits, and a DUT array exists in a scribe line having a connecting circuit prefabricated between the addressing circuits with the DUT array for testing the DUT array in the scribe line. When the need for testing the target chip arises, the prefabricated connecting circuit can be cut, and the connecting circuit connecting the target chip and the addressing circuits can be fabricated. Based on results from such test chips, the manufacturing process can be better studied.

    Abstract: A method for forming electrically conductive polyaniline (PANI)-based composites includes mixing a base form of PANI, a photo acid generator (PAG), and when the PAG does not hydrogen bond to the base form of PANI an additive which can form hydrogen bonds with the base form of PANI or PAG, together with at least one solvent to form a mixture. The solvent is removed from the mixture. After the removing, the mixture is photo-irradiated with a wavelength within an absorption band of the PAG for converting the base form of PANI to a salt form of PANI to form a polymer composite that includes the salt form of PANI. The polymer composite has a 25° C. electrical conductivity that is at least 3 orders of magnitude higher than a 25° C. electrical conductivity of the base form of PANI, such as a 25° C. electrical conductivity of ?0.01 S/cm.
