    Abstract: A method, Request Router and Traffic Monitor for monitoring a Content Delivery Network effecting requests routing toward delivery nodes (DNs) without using a load balancer and achieving high availability. Iteratively, for each delivery node, sending a monitoring request to the delivery node. If a response indicative of success of the monitoring request is received from the delivery node before the end of a first time interval, setting a status of the delivery node to indicate success. If a response indicative of failure is received before the end of the first time interval, setting the status to indicate failure. If no response is received before the end of the first time interval, setting the status to indicate indetermination. Iteratively, at a second time interval, taking a snapshot of the statuses of the delivery nodes and producing a list of DNs with their statuses to be sent to the RR.

Also, network nodes for carrying out this method are disclosed.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a method and request router (RR) to optimize content distribution in a Content Distribution Network (CDN) avoiding (unnecessary traffic towards the Content Provider) requesting the content to the origin server when the content is already available in one of the Delivery Nodes of the CDN. This is achieved by providing a path to a delivery node (DN) caching a requested content, in a content delivery network (CDN) comprising a plurality of DNs. The method comprises selecting a first DN caching the requested content. Upon determination that the first DN (90-1) has reached a maximum capacity, the method comprises selecting a second DN (90-2), which is not caching the requested content, for caching the requested content. The method comprises providing instructions, for use by the second DN, to fetch the requested content from the first DN using a reserved interface and providing a path to the second DN.

Users can listen for updates to particular conversation objects, thus providing a simulated real-time push experience.

The first manager receives operating information for a first M2M device managed by the first manager. Responsive to receiving this operating information, the first manager coordinates operation of a second M2M device that is managed by a second M2M device manager in the LAN. The first manager effectively does so by evaluating the received operating information according to a set of policy-based rules, generating control signaling according to that evaluation, and then sending the generated control signaling to the second manager. Because this control signaling is sent horizontally between different M2M device managers, rather than vertically to some centralized server, such operation coordination can occur across M2M devices that would not otherwise be inter-operable.
