Connecting structure of umbrella tips

Abstract

This invention discloses a connecting structure of an umbrella tip, which has an axial hole for receiving a tail rib. The tip has provided with a side engaging groove and the tail rib has provided with an elastic outward extended folded slice at its end side. While the tail rib inserts into the axial hole of the tip, the folded slice being firmly engaged with the engaging groove automatically. The manufacturing and the assembling of the tip and the tail rib are easy and convenient that obtains improved effect.

Description

[0001] In order to connect with the periphery of the umbrella cover, it is always to connect with a tip at the end of the tail rib. The tip is provided with a hole to connect with the cover being placed firmly on the umbrella frame. A prior tip is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, which has an axial hole (11) and a said connecting hole (12). The tail rib (2) has its outer end to insert into the axial hole (11) and a rivet (13) is used to combine the rib (2) and the tip (2) in secure. The manufacturing and assembling process is complex and uneconomic. Another known tip (2) is shown as in FIG. 3 and 4, the tail rib (2) has provided with a groove (21) at its end side and the tip (1) has provided with an elastic slice (14) having an inner hook (141) at a related position. When the tail rib (2) inserts into the axial hole (11) of the tip (1), the groove (21) will be engaged with the hook (141) of the slice (14) that obtains a firm engagement. It may ease the connection between the tail rib (2) and the tip (1) but the manufacturing of the slice (14) will be more difficult and trouble. And the plastic the hook (141) of the slice (14) may easily be broken under a pulling force in accident and the tip (1) may be also released from the tail rib (2) that causes the umbrella can not be used in normal.

[0002] The primary object of the invention is to provide an invented connecting structure of an umbrella tip being different from any prior one and having better connecting effect. Now the features and advantages of the invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0009] Please refer to FIGS. 5 and 6, the invention relates to the connecting structure of the tip (1) and the tail rib (2), wherein the tip (1) has an axial hole (11) and a side engaging groove (15). The tail rib (2) has provided with an outward extended folded slice (22) at its end side. Since the tip (1) is made of plastic or wood, the engaging groove (15) can be easily formed. The tail rib (2) is made of metal and can be pressed with the elastic folded slice (22) before it is assembled with the tip (1).

[0010] When assembling, the tail rib (2) inserts into the axial hole (11) of the tip (1) very easily while the folded slice (22) is slightly pressed. As the elastic folded slice (22) reaches the engaging groove (15), it is automatically recovery and engages with groove (15) in secure. The tip (1) is thus connected with the tail rib (2) in a perfect engagement. Accordingly, the connecting between the tail rib and the tip is very convenient and due to the support of the engagement is the metal folded slice (22) extended from the rib (2), it can provide a better strength and prevent from damage, which overcomes the drawback of a prior art.

Claims

1. A connecting structure of an umbrella tip having an axial hole for receiving a tail rib, and the characteristic is that the tip having a side engaging groove and the tail rib being provided with an elastic outward extended folded slice at its end side, and while the tail rib inserts into the axial hole of the tip, the folded slice being firmly engaged with the engaging groove automatically.
