Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to an igniter device, and, in particular, to a sort of lighter using inflammable gas as fuel stored in liquidized state.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Currently, lighters on market include candlelight lighters and windproof lighters. Candlelight lighters usually adopt electrical igniters to lighten the sparkling source, which have higher ignition rate, stable flames, longer flammable time without generating heat to the lighter body, and may be used as illumination device with its higher flame. Nevertheless, such flames are weaker and may be easily affected by the environment of use, thus limiting the scope of application. The windproof lighters as well chiefly adopt electrical igniters to set flame to the sparkling source, enhancing the windproof ability and the speed of setting fire to articles, reducing the vulnerability to environment, making higher-temperature flames for higher-temperature welding and broader scope of use. However, as such a structure of windproof lighters must provide in its combustion system a combustion chamber made of insulation materials so that the electrical igniter may produce directional jumping sparks to lighten the inflammable gas in said combustion chamber, the sparks generated by said electrical igniters may fail to jump directionally (electric leakage) once the insulation materials crack caused by the higher temperature of windproof torch flames. In addition, the wires extend into the combustion chamber may also be very easily burned and melted by the high-temperature windproof torch flame, failing to direct the jumping sparks and to set flames to inflammable gas. Furthermore, also as the wires extend into the combustion chamber, normal formation of flames are affected and the stability and quality of windproof torch flames are degraded, and due to the fact that a certain span must be kept between the wire and the spray nozzle in the combustion chamber for jumping sparks, the rate of ignition of the electrical igniter would be degraded if the span is varied in error.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

One objective of the present invention is to provide a lighter with changeable flames, combining the advantages of both candlelight lighter and windproof torch lighter. The lighter with changeable flames removes the defect that insulation materials must be provided in the ordinary windproof torch lighter or the structure of directional jump sparks, has greatly enhanced the ignition rate of windproof flames and lifetime of use, and comes up to the windproof and long-time-use requirement.

An other objective of the present invention is to provide a gas flow control switch which makes the candle light flame ignite the inflammable gas in the spray nozzle so as to produce very high ignition rate of windproof flame, and has simple and rational structure with no increase in the size of the lighter, achieving an easy and operable exchange of two types of flames.

Another objective of the present invention is to provide a lighter having a gas diverting passage with a changeable flames, which may produce high-temperature torch flames.

The objectives of the present invention are achieved by comprising:

    • a fuel gas storing container having at least an outlet valve fixed therein, at least a moveable lever for controlling gas supply of said outlet valve, a quick flow nozzle connecting to the gas passages of said fuel gas storing container;
    • a bracket connecting to said container and having fixed therein an electrical igniter device with a wire, wherein a side of aid quick flow nozzle also includes a candlelight flame outlet tube connecting to said container, and there is provided therein with an ignition cavity, and said electrical igniter has its wire extend into said ignition cavity in said candlelight outlet tube;
    • a gas control switch provided between said candlelight outlet tube and said container for opening or closing gas passage of said candlelight outlet tube, which, when unactuated, has said electrical igniter operated and the gas flown out of said outlet valve ignited to produce candlelight flame, and, when actuated, directs the fuel gas out of said outlet valve to said quick flow nozzle to be ignited by said candlelight flame and turned into a strong and high temperature flame.

Further, between said candlelight outlet tube and the outlet valve of said container there is also included a fuel gas diverting passage connecting to said candlelight outlet tube and said outlet valve.

Said container also includes a second outlet valve connecting to said candlelight outlet tube. and

    • a candlelight outlet tube provided between said quick flow nozzle and said electrical igniter, the peripheries of said container includes a housing wherein said gas control switch is fixed and partially extended outside of said housing.

Said gas control switch is fixed in said bracket with a part protruding outside of said bracket;

    • Wherein: said electrical igniter is an impact-type igniter device or battery-type electrical igniter device. Further, there is a press sleeve provided above said impact-type igniter. Said gas control switch is beneath said press sleeve and in the same operational line of said press sleeve and the impact-type igniter. Said gas control switch is also beneath a power switch which is provided on said battery-type electrical igniter device and in the same operational line of said power switch and the battery-type electrical igniter device.

The lighter with changeable flames according to the present invention, in addition to achieving relatively strong windproof effect, may cause less heat, provides illumination, and produces very strong high-temperature flames by introducing candlelight flames to the fuel gas of the quick flow nozzle, replacing the traditional electronic igniter device whereby sparks are made jumped over to said quick flow nozzle. The present invention has a very high rate of ignition rate with the strong and high-temperature flames, thus greatly prolonging the life time of use of the quick nozzle.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

Referring to FIG. 1. The lighter with changeable flames according to the present invention includes:

    • a fuel gas storing container 1 having at least an outlet valve 11 fixed therein, at least a moveable lever 2 for controlling gas supply of said outlet valve 11, a quick flow nozzle 4 connecting to the gas passages of said fuel gas storing container 1 and having a cover 41 provided thereon; and
    • a bracket 3 connecting to said container 1 and having fixed therein an electrical igniter device 5 with a wire 51,
    • wherein aid quick flow nozzle 4 also includes, at its side, a candlelight flame outlet tube 7 connecting to said container 1. The preferred embodiment is to provide a candlelight flame outlet tube 7 between said quick nozzle 4 and said electrical igniter device 5. Said candlelight flame outlet tube 7 has provided thereon an ignition cavity 71 into which said wire 51 of said electrical ignition device 5 extends, and said ignition cavity 71, connecting to said container 1, functions to make a span between a sparking point of said wire 51 and the mouth of the candlelight flame outlet tube 7 so as to assure the spark jump. The preferred embodiment is: between said outlet tube 7 and said outlet valve 11 of said container 1 there is provided a gas diverting passage 12 which connects to said outlet tube 7 and said valve 11. Said gas diverting passage 12 may be soft elastic tube. Thus, the valve core 110 of said outlet valve 11 connects to said quick flow nozzle 4 and said valve core 110 connects to said candlelight outlet tube 7 via gas diverting passage 12.

Referring to FIG. 2. The lighter with changeable flames according to the present invention also includes: a gas control switch 8 provided between said candlelight outlet tube 7 and said container 1 for opening or closing gas passage of said candlelight flame outlet tube 7. Said gas control switch 8 has the front 81 thereof provided at the side of said gas diverting passage 12 and fixed within and partially protruding over a housing 6 which surrounds said container 1.

Said electrical igniter device 5 may be an impact-type igniter device 52 having a press sleeve 54 provided there above. When said housing 6 has its head cover 61 opened, one end of the said head cover 61 makes said moveable lever 2 actuated to lift the valve core 110 in the outlet valve 11, releasing the fuel gas via valve 11. At the time, as the passages of quick flow nozzle 4 for producing quick flow gas are usually made in the form of micro-pores while the passages of candlelight flame outlet tube 7 are of larger through holes, most of the gas released from outlet valve 11 therefore passes through fuel gas diverting passage 12 before entering the candlelight flame outlet tube 7 and is released out from the candlelight flame outlet tube 7. When said press sleeve 54 is pressed down, a piston within said impact electrical igniter device 52 impacts a sparking means, making wire 51 produce sparks towards the mouth of said candlelight flame outlet tube 7 and hence further producing bright candlelight flames by igniting the fuel gas at a pray head of said candlelight flame outlet tube 7. Said flames as thus produced may be used for illumination or ignition to articles.

Referring to FIG. 2, said gas control switch 8, when pushed, moves downward, making the front 81 of said gas control switch 8 press said gas diverting passage 12 (soft tube), cutting off (closing) the route of the fuel gas released from said outlet valve 11 to said outlet tube 7 and turning the released gas to the passage of said quick flow nozzle 4, and right thereafter, a forceful inflammable gas flow is formed within said quick flow nozzle 4 and ignited by said candlelight flames, producing a strong and high-temperature flame. Such a structure replaces that of the ignition whereby an electrical ignition device 5 must be adopted within ordinary windproof lighter so as to produce directional jumping fire by virtue of the insulating properties of the insulation materials to produce the inflammable fuel gas in said ignition chamber. The structure according to the present invention may prolong the life time of use of said quick flow nozzle 4 and greatly enhance the ignition rate of strong and high-temperature flames and the stability thereof.

Referring to FIG. 3. Said gas flow control switch 8 may also be in the form of button structure. When a finger moves said housing 6 towards inner side, the front 81 of the button 8 presses said gas diverting passage 12 thus cutting off the gas flow in said passage 12, and when the finger releases, said button 8 automatically resets by means of the resetting resilient force of said gas diverting passage 12 (soft tube), or of a reset spring 9 provided there on said button 8, so as to open the gas diverting passage 12, and then, the windproof torch flame is put out.

Referring to FIG. 4 which shows the second example of the present invention. Break ups are adopted to clearly show the main structure of the second embodiment of the present invention which is similar to the first embodiment. The differences between the first and the second embodiment are in that: said gas control switch 8 is amounted under said press sleeve 54, in the same operational line with said press sleeve 54 and the impact electrical igniter device 52, and within said bracket 3, partially protruding out of said bracket 3. The front 81 of said gas flow control switch 8 may be separately structured from said gas flow control switch 8 by pivotally amounted within said bolt 82 of said bracket 3. When said moveable lever 2 moves upwards in the same manner as shown in FIG. 1, the valve core 110 of said outlet valve 11 releases fuel gas which sprays out from said candlelight outlet tube 7, and then said press sleeve 54 is pressed down, making the piston in said impact-type electrical igniter device 52 impacts the sparkling means which then makes the sparkling end of said wire 51 to sparkle towards the outlet port of said candlelight flame outlet tube 7, thus igniting the gas sprayed out from said tube 7 to produce candlelight flames. Then thereafter, along with the continuous downward movement of the finger, said gas control switch 8 is pushed which has its front 81 moves upwards pressing said gas diverting passage 12 and cutting off the gas from said outlet valve 11 to and through said candlelight flame outlet tube 7, and turning said gas into said quick flow nozzle 4 and igniting it with the candlelight flames from outlet tube 7 so as to produce strong and high-temperature flame at the quick flow nozzle 4.

Referring to FIG. 5 which shows the third embodiment of the present invention. Break ups are also adopted to clearly show the main structure of the second embodiment of the present invention. In said container 1, there is provided with an outlet valve 11 connecting to said quick flow nozzle 4 and second valve 11′ connecting to said candlelight flame outlet tube 7. Said candlelight flame outlet tube 7 may adopt soft tube 70 to be connected to said outlet valve 11. On the outlet valve 11 there is provided with a moveable lever 2′ and on the outlet valve 11′ there is provided with a moveable lever 2. The front 81 of said gas control switch 8 is provided on the side of said soft tube 70 and the other part of said gas control switch 8 is connected to said moveable lever 2′. Said electrical igniter device 5 amounted in said bracket 3 and provided with wire 51 is a battery-typed electrical igniter device 53 which is mainly equipped with battery 531 to produce electrical jumping fire and has a power switch 55. Said gas control switch 8 is under said power switch 55 and in the same operational line of said switch 55 and a battery-typed electrical ignition device 53. When said moveable lever 2 is lifted in the same manner as in FIG. 1, said valve core 110 in said second outlet valve 11′ has the fuel gas released through second outlet valve 11, said soft tube 70, the passages of and the outlet port of said candlelight flame outlet tube 7. when said power switch 55 is pressed down, battery-typed electrical ignition device 53 is connected and the wire 51 sparkles towards the outlet port of said candlelight flame outlet tube 7, igniting the fuel gas in the outlet tube 7 and making a candlelight flames. When the finger continuously moves down, said gas control switch 8 is actuated, making the front 81 press said soft tube 70 and cutting off the outlet of the gas released from the second outlet valve 11′, and at the same time, along with the downward movement of the switch 8, said moveable lever 2′ moves out said valve core 110 of the outlet valve 11, causing the gas of the container 1 to go through said outlet valve 11 to said quick flow nozzle 4, making strong inflammable gas in said quick flow nozzle 4, and turning it ignited into a strong and high-temperature flames.

The above preferred embodiments are only for description of the invention and cannot be construed as any limitation to the present invention.
